MLB The Show 25 Announces Unprecedented XP and PXP Boosts

Boosts on boosts!

If you’ve been grinding Diamond Dynasty in MLB The Show 25 throughout the year and looking for the perfect time to log in, this upcoming week just became super enticing. For the first time in series history, San Diego Studio is rolling out a 3x XP event, paired with a 2x PXP boost that runs from September 5 (3 PM EST) through September 12 (3 PM EST).

This means whether you’re trying to power through programs, max out your 7th Inning rewards, or just accelerate your journey in other modes, this week is going to offer the fastest progression pace the game has ever seen.

How XP And PXP Boosts Work In MLB The Show 25

If you’re a seasoned MLB The Show player, you likely already have a good understanding of how both XP and PXP work. However, if this is your first year playing the series, here’s how these boosts work:

  • 3x XP applies to the universal XP system, meaning every inning, every moment, and every showdown will rack up progress toward the Featured Program at triple the usual rate.
  • 2x PXP (Player XP) applies to the individual cards you’re leveling up, making it easier to hit mission milestones, unlock parallel boosts, and complete Team Affinity objectives.

Normally, these boosts come separately, but stacking both at once essentially doubles the grind efficiency. For those chasing rare packs or the big-name rewards tucked into Featured Programs, this is the week to buckle down.

Why These Boosts Matter

Maybe it’s just me, but I feel the grind in MLB The Show 25 has been a bit more unbearable than it has in years past. Almost every program is boiled down into being part of a larger collection, rather than a pathway to get truly endgame rewards. However, these boosts should help get the programs themselves done in a much more efficient manner, which provides at least some relief, even if it doesn’t quite get you to the promised land.

Again, the grind is still real. However, if you’re a dedicated MLB The Show player like myself, hop on for a bit this weekend and see if you can get some things done.
