MLB The Show 23 patch #5 is available today adding the Texas Rangers Nike City Connect uniforms and a few other fixes and adjustments in various modes. The MLB The Show 23 Season 2 Rewards Program is also available featuring new content inspired by the Kaiju film genre including new props in Stadium Creator.
The developers didn’t touch gameplay but you can find additional details in the patch notes below.
GENERAL
- Texas Rangers City Connect uniforms have been added.
DIAMOND DYNASTY
- The checkbox for completed goals in Mini Seasons now displays a green checkmark instead of a red X.
- CPU-controlled Mini Seasons teams will no longer wear their home uniforms every game.
- Correct logos now display in the Mini Season load-in screen.
- Fixed an issue which caused users to see the error “Your opponent has an invalid roster” when trying to play a game in Mini Seasons.
- Stability improvements across various game modes.
CO-OP
- Fixed an issue which caused a user’s Ranked rating to reset once it reached 1,000.
- Fixed a hang that could occur due to substitutions.
- Fixed various hangs that could occur through specific timing of button inputs.
- Fixed various intentional methods of freezing the game.
ONLINE HEAD-TO-HEAD
- Fixed various hangs that could occur through specific timing of button inputs.

MARCH TO OCTOBER AND FRANCHISE
- For the first time in Franchise, players can view pitch type attributes of draft prospects. We’ve added the ability to toggle between player attributes and pitch types when viewing pitchers’ amateur player cards.
MISCELLANEOUS
- Retractable roof settings now function properly in Play vs Friends.
- Various presentation fixes and polish.
- Various commentary updates and adjustments.

Gameplay Balance Changes
- There are no gameplay balance changes at this time.
Live Content Balance Change – Adjustments To Team Affinity 1 Captains
- Based on community feedback, Team Affinity 1 Captains have had their associated attribute decreases lowered or removed, with some attribute increases modified to bring their power level in line with Team Affinity 2 Captains.
- Additionally, Team Affinity Pitching Captains have had their Tier 2 and 3 activation requirements lowered to 8 and 11 pitchers respectively.
We hope this will make it easier to create pitching team builds and incentivize users to continue to build theme teams. We will continue to monitor the balance of Captain cards throughout the year.
