MLB The Show 23 Adding Face Scan Feature - Tips Included

SDS has announced a brand new face scan feature is coming to MLB The Show 23. All it takes is a quick selfie and upload with the companion app. Fans will be able to edit their player after uploading to include the following:

Recommended Videos
  • Body
  • Head
  • Hair
  • Cheeks
  • Eyes
  • Eyebrows
  • Nose
  • Ears
  • Jaw & Chin
  • Mouth
  • Neck

While players will be able to make heads bigger or smaller, you can’t edit the shape. It appears the feature will be locked to your Ballplayer for Road to the Show and Diamond Dynasty.

Below are a few suggestions to achieve the best results when the companion app becomes available.

  • Remove any glasses and headwear (hats, caps, bandanas, etc.) that might cover your forehead
  • Center your face in the oval and pull your hair back if necessary to reveal your face and forehead
  • Face camera directly with a neutral expression, no smiling, frowning, squinting or showing teeth
  • Use lighting that renders your natural skin tone and does not create hard shadows
  • A light uniformed background is preferred

SDS hinted at the new addition in the Feature Premiere schedule and it’s safe to say the face scan feature was one of the items blacked out. On March 2nd, the team will reveal more information on this new feature and discuss Road to the Show, so keep an eye out for updates.
