MLB The Show 21: Welcome To The Show Event

Events are back for MLB The Show 21, and the Welcome To The Show Event (Part 1) should be very comfortable for those who have grown used to events through the years in DD. The structure is exactly the same, and Part 1 ends on April 27. The top reward in Part 1 is an All-Star Miguel Cabrera.

There will at least be two parts to this first event in MLB The Show 21.

Update: Part 2 is now live. As expected, not much changed here, and the rewards remain the same. Part 2 ends on May 7.

  1. Speaking of The Show, did they embargo all reviews until the All-Star break, or what?
The only thing on Metacritic right now, is a 5.3 User Score...and that's WITH the recently implemented user-side delay.

We did not get our review copy until Wednesday I want to say, or maybe late Tuesday. Point being, I think most sites got it around the same time, and it wasn't much before early access.
I am liking the sound of this less and less.
Did they not do an ARC, and just send you the retail version?
How late did it go gold, if that's the case?  And what, exactly, were they working on up to the last minute?
I've got a bad feeling about this...
