This is not our first rodeo with a diamond Logan Gilbert card, and Mariners fans have to hope it’s not his last either. He has a four-pitch mix that includes a 96 mph fastball, 79 mph changeup, 75 mph curveball, and 83 mph slider. I do think the pitch mix is not ideal, but the speed variance between his fastball and other pitches is interesting. It might be a case where the other three pitches are too similar in speed to be effective, but he’s worth scoping out for at least one outing.
He has 94 control on his 4-seam fastball, and 80+ control on the other three pitches. The 4-seam probably will be a little straight and hittable, but he has 97 break on his slider. He has 97 stamina, and the per 9s are solid in general.
