Headliners Set 16 2nd Half Heroes Ron Guidry has replaced Signature Series Carlos Santana in Headliners packs today. 2nd Half Heroes Ron Guidry is a 95 overall.
Guidry goes under the radar year after year at this point. He just does not have much cache, and he never really seems to get great cards when Diamond Dynasty is at peak popularity. Additionally, his pitch repertoire is usually nothing special, and great fielding from the pitching spot is sort of whatever. Still, his primary pitch is a slider, and he has great stamina as usual. The thing about this card is it’s basically two-pitch pitcher. The slider has 99 break and he has great control of it, and then he mixes it in with two 95+ mph fastballs. His curveball drops down to 80 mph, but he does not have good control of that pitch, which sort of cancels it out.
My guess is this might not be bad card out of the bullpen, but you’re not exactly going to get that option in many situations.
