How To Stack Programs Efficiently in MLB The Show 26

Be efficient!

MLB The Show 26 is rolling out event after event, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. These events, or programs, can run from a few weeks to multiple seasons. Who has the time to keep chipping away at them, right? Not me, at least. Making the most of your time is what counts, and completing multiple programs at once is the secret sauce.

Today, I’m going to talk about how to do just that. Stacking programs means finishing quests from different programs simultaneously. This isn’t as hard as you think, and you’ll be surprised how fast you can get them done after reading this. So without further ado, let’s get into it.

Before we get into the crux of the article, let me briefly explain what program stacking means. MLB The Show 26 releases new programs periodically, such as the World Baseball Classic program or the Spring Breakout program. These reward you with cards as you complete missions and gain XP.

Missions for these programs usually require actions performed by specific cards, like hitting home runs with AL East players or getting strikeouts with WBC pitchers. They don’t care where you’re doing these, as long as they get done. And that’s where program stacking comes in.

Rather than complete these programs one by one, you can focus on multiple quests at the same time. Simply fill your team with players required by different programs and try to fulfil the conditions set by the missions. The difficulty doesn’t matter, only completion. But why make things harder for yourself? Get done with things like Conquests at the same time. If this seems like a lot, don’t worry, I’ll break it down.

Team Building – Efficiency Vs Stats

The biggest mistake players make is taking their best-rated team to finish programs. They’ll switch out a few players to target a particular quest, like Team Affinity, and repeat the process over and over for multiple programs. This makes your grind so much harder than it needs to be.

Rather than building the best team you can stat-wise, play with players required for programs. You can use 3 players from the WBC collection, 3 from the same division for Team Affinity, and 2 players required for a different program. Remember that missions rarely restrict you to particular player cards, so stats from each player fulfilling those requirements go into mission progress.

To put it simply, if Team Affinity asks for players from the same team, each player you’re using from the same team will reward you with XP separately. So, you can mix things up with 4 players from the WBC collection or maybe 5 players from a program you want to get done first. But prioritization is key.

Now you might be wondering: how am I supposed to win with this makeshift team? Just make the matches easier.

Picking The Right Game Modes

When I said make the matches easier, I didn’t just mean decrease the game’s difficulty. If you’re already focusing on programs for rewards, why not finish up some Conquests at the same time? If you’re looking for how to finish Conquest maps fast, I have a guide right here. But the gist of it is that you can reduce match difficulty if you have enough fans.

Capture territory early, build up an enormous fanbase, and play those Rookie-level matches with your makeshift team. This not only progresses multiple programs but also completes your MLB The Show 26 Conquest maps. The 3-inning matches are great for quick and easy progress. Mini-seasons are another great mode for fast, 3-inning matches. They are repeatable, easy, and are done with minimal effort.

The other game modes you could use to boost progress are events and ranked matches. They might not be the shortest games out here, but they will help you receive more rewards in their respective pathways. Because when you’re stacking programs, why miss out on free rewards?

Knowing Your Objectives

This might seem pretty straightforward to a lot of you, but you’ll be surprised how often we miss this. To curate an efficient team and knock out multiple objectives at once, you need to know what those objectives are. Always check your objectives before going into a match and keep them in mind while playing.

If you’re thinking, “Of course I know my objectives, I made my team around them”, new objectives are constantly popping up. A slight change in your lineup could help you complete the new mission that you just received. So always check which objectives you have active currently, and how you can complete them while focusing on your main goals.

Tricks To Maximize Efficiency

There are two main tips I can give you when looking to maximize efficiency in MLB The Show 26. The first is to use custom stadiums anytime they’re available. Need more home runs? Use a stadium with a higher elevation. Missions require strikeouts? Stadiums with poor lighting will aid you against the hitter. Custom stadiums can be your best friend if used correctly.

The second is to prioritize offline matches. Now, this isn’t mandatory, of course, as the main goal of the game is to have fun. However, online matches can really hinder your progress when it comes to program stacking. At the end of the day, it’s definitely up to your preference, but playing offline matches will help you progress more quickly.

By following these tips, you can stack programs efficiently in MLB The Show 26 and make the most of your time.
