How to Play as Gervonta Davis in Undisputed

Is the lightweight division's notorious knockout artist in Undisputed?

If you’re a boxing fan, then the name Gervonta Davis is a big one for you. Currently the WBA Lightweight champion, Davis — known to most as “Tank” — is one of the most prolific knockout artists in boxing right now. Of his 30 wins, 28 have been by knockout. Therefore, it’s reasonable to assume that if you play Undisputed, you’ve likely searched for Tank before. Because who wouldn’t want to play as a dude who’s known for lights-out power, despite their diminutive stature?

This, in turn, begs the question: How does one play as Gervonta Davis in Undisputed? Unfortunately, the answer isn’t as clear-cut as you were perhaps hoping it’d be.

Gervonta Davis Isn’t Licensed In Undisputed

Despite being one of boxing’s premier talents and personalities, Gervonta Davis is not included as a licensed fighter in Undisputed, be it the base game or DLC. Of course, in order to include a boxer in their game, Steel City Interactive/Deep Silver must pay boxers a licensing fee to include their likeness. One would assume that, given the boxer’s popularity, one of the relevant parties involved would have reached out to Tank’s team, and that his omission is due to the two parties being unable to come to an agreement regarding the licensing fee.

But anyone who assumes as much would be wrong.

In an episode of Lil Yachty’s “A Safe Place Podcast,” Tank was asked why he wasn’t involved with Undisputed. According to the former three-division champion, nobody involved in the production of Undisputed contacted him about being in the game (h/t Essentially Sports).

Davis did, however, bring up another video game he wishes he were a part of: Def Jam: Vendetta. Can’t blame you on that one, champ. What a game!

The Undisputed Community Has Created Gervonta Davis Replacements

Like most sports games that rely upon licensing for immersion, many hardcore fans within the Undisputed community have resorted to creating their own versions of real-life boxers who aren’t featured within the game. Gervonta Davis is no different. Unfortunately, Undisputed does not currently have a feature that allows players to download created fighters. Instead, you’re going to do a lot of the heavy lifting (or creating) yourself.

One YouTuber — Undisputed King — has made their own version of Gervonta Davis, which you can see in the embedded video above. It’s not perfect, but considering Undisputed‘s limited creation suite at the time being, it’s probably as good as it’s going to get for now until SCI makes some much-needed improvements to the feature.
