Football Manager 2024 to Remain on Subscription Services Until Next Release

Game Pass players rejoice.

It’s been a rough few months for fans of the long-running Football Manager series. Not only was Football Manager 25 — a title that was promised as being a landmark edition in the series — subject to an unprecedented long-term delay, but the game was eventually cancelled outright due to it failing to meet expectations from developer Sports Interactive. This obviously left a massive void for gamers who enjoy the football management simulator, myself included.

Even with Sports Interactive having close to eight months to deliver a new title (if we’re going off the series’ traditional release window), the future of the series is still shrouded in mystery and questions. But for now, Sports Interactive and Sega have extended an olive branch to fans of the series who are playing Football Manager 2024 on subscription services.

Ever since the Football Manager series became available on consoles, some subscription services such as Game Pass have begun carrying the games. For instance, Football Manager 2024 has been available on Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, Apple Arcade, PlayStation Plus, and Netflix since its release. On a normal timeline, these services would’ve continued to hold the game until the release of the next one. But with Football Manager 25 getting the ax, this has obviously led to questions pertaining to the length of time the game will remain available. Luckily for these consumers, Sports Interactive is doing right by them.

In the first statement made by the company since FM 25‘s cancellation, Sports Interactive has confirmed that Football Manager 2024 will continue to be available on Apple Arcade, Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation Plus, and Netflix until the release of the next FM title. This news should be warmly received by FM players who use the aforementioned subscription services to play the game indefinitely while they wait for Football Manager 26, or whatever the next entry will be.

As of now, there is no announcement of when gamers can expect the next Football Manager title.
