EA Shutting Down Origin App in April - 64-Bit EA App Will Be Required

EA will be discontinuing the Origin app on April 17 due to Microsoft ending support for 32-bit software. If you haven’t done so already, it’s time to start thinking about making the switch to the EA app.

For users on a 64-bit operating system, you can download the EA app from the official website. After installation, simply log in with your Origin credentials and your account, game library, in-game hours and cloud saves will transfer over. Some games don’t support cloud saves, so be sure to back them up manually. Also, mods might not transfer over, so it’s a good idea to check with the creators for compatibility.

This likely won’t impact most of the community, but the EA app isn’t compatible with a 32-bit version of Windows. If your PC cannot be upgraded to a 64-bit operating system, you might need to consider purchasing a new computer, especially if you own a significant number of EA games.
