EA Sports has officially revealed Project Assist, a new real-time technology platform that could shape the future of EA FC 27.
At its core, Project Assist is designed to bring real-world football closer to the in-game experience than ever before.
This fits perfectly into how the EA FC games have been evolving over the years. The focus has shifted toward constant updates, live content, and deeper connections to real-world football. Project Assist feels like a natural extension of that approach.
However, it’s important to note that EA hasn’t fully confirmed how deeply Project Assist will be integrated into EA Sports FC 27. For now, it remains a technology showcase with clear potential rather than a fully detailed feature set. But we still know a good bit thanks to popular leaker @gamer_matheusx, who also released the showcase trailer.
What Is Project Assist?

At its core, Project Assist will allow you to watch real-life matches in-game in real time. It’s all thanks to their partnership with TRACARB.
You can watch matches in real-time in the game, rewatch your goals from different angles, recreate clips from it for content, and much, much more. It’s like being able to watch a soccer game from any angle you want. You can watch your favorite player dribble the ball through the enemy team and score from multiple angles. This will be the most interactive real-time sports toolkit ever. Here is what you can expect.
- Enhanced broadcast-style presentation inside the game
- Smarter AI driven by real tactical data
- New modes built around live football moments
- Deeper analysis tools for competitive players
This could even extend to Ultimate Team-style modes, where real-world performances influence in-game content faster and more dynamically than ever before.
There’s also potential for entirely new types of content. Combined with EA’s existing live service structure, Project Assist could help deliver a more fluid and evolving experience throughout the game’s lifecycle.
Of course, this is all hopeful speculation at this point. We only have a showcase video, which shows a replay mode-style tool. So, it’s only an announcement for now; we will have to wait a bit to see what Project Assist will truly be about.
