With today’s content drop in Diamond Dynasty, we get a Topps Now Shohei Ohtani in the new Los Angeles Angeles Nike City Connect Program. We also have the June 10 ratings update, and Headliners Set 21 2nd Half Heroes Larry Walker.

The biggest thing to note here is this version of Ohtani is a position player. So if you’ve been waiting to get Ohtani into more lineups, than this is the ticket. He has better hitting stats than the Live Series version, so if you rake with Ohtani already, this will be a card to scope out. He’s also faster than the Live Series version. I am looking forward to grabbing this card because the Monthly Awards Ohtani was one of my favorite cards to use for a couple months.

There are not a ton of surprises here. Judge is now the top-rated Live Series player in the game, and Sandy Alcantara is the biggest winner this week with a +5 rating (probably signifying he was overdue for a leap).
Headliners Set 21 – 2nd Half Heroes Larry Walker
A big-time Larry Walker card is back in the rotation, so this is exciting to see for that crowd of fans. Walker has been a popular card in DD lore, and it’s because he’s usually just incredibly well balanced with an easy-to-like swing. With that in mind, he’s not quite the five-tool stud here with just middling speed and weak power against LHP. However, he does have maxed out contact against RHP, and he’s still going to be toolsy enough to fit on your squad if you think he has an S-tier swing. On top of that, the Headliners cards have been very affordable as of late (probably because everyone is swept up in Future Stars fever), so you can probably snag Walker for under 20K even today.
The odds on Headliners packs to pull a diamond are 1:10 (as always), albeit that diamond might not be 2nd Half Heroes Larry Walker. In addition, this year you can buy one pack of the Headliners choice pack, which gives you 1:3 odds of pulling a 90+ overall diamond (and of course costs more stubs).
