Tom Brady has roles as an analyst for Fox Sports and has a little share with the Las Vegas Raiders. The veteran’s latest showing with The Raiders has got the people, as well as Marcus Spears, talking.
The broadcaster claims the NFL has crossed a line, allowing Brady to perform both roles. He believes it threatens its integrity and painted this situation as a major problem for the NFL going forward.
During ESPN’s Get Up on September 16, 2025, Marcus Spears slammed Tom Brady for his multiple roles in the NFL. He described it as “abhorrent” for his broadcasting gig and how it questions the integrity of the NFL.
“It’s abhorrent for me for his job. I love it for his team… this should not happen with him being a commentator of NFL football games. It actually questions the integrity of the NFL.”
Fans Agree With Marcus Spears’ Criticism Of Brady’s Dual Roles
Marcus Spears further criticised Brady for being the five percent owner of the Las Vegas Raiders and potentially leaking information. He claimed that this shouldn’t be happening while Brady is commentating for the NFL football games.
The fans seem to agree with Marcus’s comments as they believe Brady should pick a role rather than doing both jobs.
However, the fans’ and Spears’ opinions don’t matter to Brady as he inked a 10-year, $375 million contract in 2024. He seems quite happy with his job and is clearly focused rather than reacting to the criticism. Fans are suggesting that Brady seems to care more about his legacy within the NFL rather than the sport itself.
Concerns About Integrity And Insider Knowledge Continue To Grow
During his call-out of Tom Brady, Marcus Spears also brought up how Brady has access to pre-production meetings, which provide him with information about coaching plans and key players to monitor.
Spears added that teams should be smart not to disclose sensitive information while Brady is on the line. He believes that information could be used against those teams when they go up against the Raiders.
At some point, the NFL should consider whether Brady should be allowed to keep these two jobs, as they could cross a dangerous line. However, the league seems comfortable in letting the veteran go on with both roles. It remains to be seen if a change is made in the near future or if these criticisms fall on deaf ears.
