Xbox Wrapped 2025 May Be Skipped Due to Marketing Budget Cuts, Report Says

Xbox will be sitting on the sidelines this year.

Spotify Wrapped has quickly become something people look forward to at the end of the year. If you are unfamiliar, Spotify started Wrapped as a way to showcase your listening history across the year — albums, artists, songs, and genres. That sort of stuff.

It quickly became popular, and other apps and companies took notice. Discord, YouTube, PlayStation, and Xbox all have their versions of Wrapped. But the latter one is going to sit on the sidelines this year, as Xbox Wrapped 2025 might not be a thing.

According to Jezz Corden from Windows Central, Xbox might not have wrapped this year because of budget constraints. Fret not, there is an alternative which we will get to later. But the news of Xbox Wrapped being cancelled this year is disheartening to Xbox fans.

Especially when you look at its competitors like Sony having a Wrapped, it makes Xbox’s fans feel left out. But it’s not all sad. As the budget cuts are for a reason, and these resources are going to be used next year for something better.

Why Is Xbox Not Getting A Wrapped In 2025?

According to Corden, the main reason for this is mainly budget cuts. Next year is big for Xbox and the companies under its umbrella. A lot of them have big anniversaries next year. Xbox and Halo are having their 25th anniversaries, Blizzard and Bethesda are also having their 35th and 40th anniversaries next year.

Hence, they want to plan big events to celebrate these milestones, and that’s where the budget is being allocated. According to Corden,

Next year will kick off a confluence of major anniversaries not just for Xbox, but some of its subsidiary properties too. Xbox is having its 25th anniversary, alongside Halo itself. Blizzard is also having its 35th anniversary, and Bethesda is having its 40th anniversary too…

… As such, a lot of the “marketing budget” that would’ve typically been allocated to something like an “Xbox Wrapped” is being poured into efforts to celebrate these major milestones for Xbox, its brands, and some of its games.

But all is not lost, as you can still check your year by using True Achievements. It’s not going to be as detailed and presentable as Xbox Wrapped, but it’s better than nothing. It’s completely safe as well. True Achievements uses the Xbox official API for data collection and the Microsoft Authentication systems for security. So, if you want a Wrapped this year, you can use True Achievements because there is a high chance there will not be an official Xbox Wrapped this year.
