WWE 2K25: Is The Island on PC? Answered

Will The Island ever be available on PC?

The Island is one of the new and most exciting features that comes with WWE 2K25. It allows you to experience the game like you never have before and engage with different types of content. Only available in MySUPERSTAR, you can take your custom-made wrestler to The Island and look at different cosmetics, accept quests, interact with other online players, and speak with NPCs across four different districts.

While all of this sounds great and a fantastic addition to WWE 2K25, PC players have noticed The Island is missing from their copy of the game. Even after making a wrestler in MySUPERSTAR, PC players can’t access The Island and the mode looks more like it does in WWE 2K24.

Is this a glitch, is The Island coming to PC at a later date, or, even worse, is The Island not coming to PC at all in WWE 2K25? I’ll answer all your questions down below.

Can You Access The Island In WWE 2K25 On PC?

Unfortunately, The Island missing from PC versions of WWE 2K25 is not the cause of a glitch. It’s also not coming at a later date, as the developers have confirmed that The Island is exclusive to the current-generation consoles. This means only players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are able to access The Island and all the additional content it delivers in 2K25. It also means players on PS4 and Xbox One won’t be able to partake in The Island’s content either, so they join PC players on the bench in that regard.

This is a major blow to a large chunk of the WWE 2K25 player base. Reports have shown that PC players make up a solid percentage of the WWE 2K sales every year, and now those players are left out in the cold, unable to access one of the cooler innovations the series has seen in quite some time.

While a PC release for The Island could come at a later date, it seems highly unlikely based on why it didn’t come to PC in the first place.

Why Isn’t The Island On PC In WWE 2K25?

According to the developers, The Island was specifically designed for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. They also stated that it’s meant to be an experience that caters to newer players, and apparently, more first-time players derive from the current generation of consoles rather than PC.

There have been some reports floating around that The Island had too many technical demands to be stable on PC, but that doesn’t make much sense seeing that PCs can be far more powerful than current-gen consoles. The minimum requirements for WWE 2K25 on PC are lower specs than the PS5 or Xbox Series X. Therefore, even older PCs would likely have little issue supporting The Island.

It seems the real reason the developers shied away from making The Island available on PC was due to hackers. Cheating in multiplayer video games, especially on PC, has become a massive problem in today’s day and age, as cheat developers are popping up every day and raking in thousands and thousands of dollars. While cheating in WWE 2K25 isn’t as prevalent as other multiplayer titles, such as Call of Duty, it has been a problem on PC in the past.

With The Island being a multiplayer experience, the developers seemingly sensed it was too big of a risk to open up to the PC community and its flurry of cheat-makers. Not only could players buy cheats and use them for PvP matches in The Island, but who knows what kind of havoc cheaters could cause in The Island in a general sense? Maybe cheaters could find a way to crash The Island altogether or heavily mod it so that everyone can’t access what they’re to do in WWE 2K25.

While WWE 2K25 does implement some form of anti-cheat on PC, it’s likely the same software NBA 2K25 uses — which is infamous for not stopping cheaters. So, in the end, the developers likely just decided to go with the less risky option and make The Island only available on current-gen consoles.

It’s possible that if The Island ends up being a success in WWE 2K25, the developers could work out a way for it to come to PC in 2K26 if it ends up making a return. However, some hardcore fans are already divided about The Island, saying it’s too much like the NBA 2K25 experience with “The City.” In fact, some players stated they bought the PC version of WWE 2K25 to avoid The Island altogether.

However things shake out in the future, though, it appears The Island won’t be coming to PC anytime soon in WWE 2K25.
