When former NFL offensive tackle Matt Kalil retired, he largely stepped away from the spotlight after his playing career. Instead, the 36-year-old is now at the center of a very public legal dispute involving his ex-wife, model and social media personality Haley Kalil.
On January 6, 2026, Kalil filed a lawsuit against Haley after comments she made during a livestream resurfaced widely online. In the filing, he alleges that the remarks disclosed highly intimate details about their marriage, invaded his privacy, and disrupted his efforts to remain out of public view following his retirement from football.
When A Private Moment Slipped Into The Public Conversation
At the center of the case is a moment from a November 2025 livestream appearance by Haley on Marlon Garcia’s “Mar-Athon.” During the broadcast, she spoke openly about her past relationship with Kalil and suggested that the size of his genitals was a significant factor in their 2022 divorce, using the now-viral phrase “two Coke cans, maybe even a third.”
The dispute stems from that same conversation, where Haley described how long she and Kalil tried to make the marriage work, a discussion that later fueled wider online debate about intimacy and privacy. “Deada**, for our whole marriage. But I was going to try it all. We tried everything, therapists, doctors. Not even lying, looked up lipo-type stuff. That’s why it’s kinda funny; my life is a comedy, it writes itself,” Haley said during the stream.
She also explained why she had avoided sharing those details publicly in the past, adding, “That’s why I can’t put it on the internet. We tried it all,” before again joking that size was part of the issue and repeating the “two Coke cans” comparison that spread far beyond the original livestream.
According to documents obtained by TMZ Sports, the comments quickly took on a life of their own once clips began circulating. What may have felt like a candid moment turned into headlines, memes, and widespread discussion across social media.
In the filing, Kalil claims that because of those remarks, he has been subjected to “unwanted attention and invasive commentary from the public.” He also says his family members “have been forced to endure the ongoing public circulation of these degrading and deeply personal statements.”
How The Fallout Kept Growing Until It Turned Legal
At the heart of Kalil’s argument is a simple point. He believes that sharing deeply personal details without consent can have lasting consequences, especially in an era where viral clips travel fast and context often gets lost.
The lawsuit highlights a broader issue facing public figures and influencers. Livestreams and online platforms encourage openness, but Kalil’s complaint suggests there should still be boundaries, particularly when discussing former partners and private matters.
Haley has pushed back on that portrayal. She told TMZ Sports she was “genuinely shocked and incredibly hurt” by the lawsuit. “Litigation is a harrowing and emotionally draining experience, and I am heartbroken that he is choosing to subject us and our families to this ordeal,” she said.
Kalil is now seeking a jury trial and damages exceeding $75,000. He accuses Haley of invasion of privacy and unjust enrichment, arguing that the incident caused personal harm while also benefiting her online platforms.
For now, the case stands as a reminder of how quickly personal moments can spiral once they hit the internet. What began as an offhand conversation has turned into a legal battle that may ultimately force a court to decide where openness ends and privacy begins.
