Which Swing Input Option Should You Use in PGA Tour 2K25?

How to find the right settings for you.

PGA Tour 2K25 allows you to fully customize your preferred control scheme when it comes to how you want to hit the ball. If you don’t like something in your controls, then your shot can be thrown off and that will result in a few laked balls, at the least. The best way to ensure you have your shot exactly how you want it is by choosing the correct Swing Input.

There are three different Swing Inputs in PGA Tour 2K25 and you’re given the chance to pick one before doing anything else in the game, as it’s arguably the most important setting. However, if you’re new to PGA Tour or simply need some additional explanation on how each input option works, you might not know what to choose.

Luckily, picking a Swing Input isn’t as tricky as it seems, and I’ll break down everything about your options and offer my recommendation for which one to pick in the guide below.

Every Swing Input Option Explained In PGA Tour 2K25

In total, there are three Swing Input Options in PGA Tour 2K25. You’ll see these three options as you soon as you start 2K25 for the first time, where you need to make a choice on which one to pick. While you do have to pick one at the start of the game, you can freely change your Swing Input by visiting the settings at any time.

Each Swing Input option features a different way for you to hit the ball in terms of what you press when going into your swing. All of the options don’t feature a ton of explanation right off the bat, though. Here are three Swing Input options and what they do:

  • Right Stick: Use the right stick to swing and the left stick to aim
  • 3 Click: Use button presses to swing
  • Left Stick: Use the left stick to swing and the right stick to aim

The only outlier here is the 3 Click option, which uses buttons instead of the joysticks to swing and aim (if you’re using a controller). If you’re on PC, then 3 Click makes you click your mouse buttons instead of pressing buttons on your keyboard to swing and aim.

When it comes to Right Stick and Left Stick, they’re essentially the same but the joysticks are reversed. If you decide to go with one of these options, I recommend trying out both and seeing what feels more natural. If you feel that Left Stick, which uses the left stick to swing and right stick to aim, feels more comfortable, then go with that Swing Input option.

Both Right Stick and Left Swing Inputs utilize joysticks in the same way. At the start of your swing, you pull down on the joystick to get into your backswing and then you move the stick up to swing and hit the ball. The joystick that isn’t being used to swing is instead used to aim the ball in the direction you want to hit it.

All Swing Input options can be customized in the “Controls” section of the PGA Tour 2K25 settings. You can also create guest profiles, similar to how the difficulty settings work, so you can try out different options without messing with your main profile.

Best Swing Input Option To Use In PGA Tour 2K25

Now that you’ve learned a little more about the individual Swing Input options in 2K25, which is the best overall choice?

If you ask any PGA Tour veteran, they’ll likely tell you that Right Stick is far and away the best Swing Input. It’s the most traditional option and most longtime PGA Tour players have this Swing Input ingrained in their muscle memory.

Right Stick is the best overall choice if you’re looking to master the art of the swing in 2K25. It feels the best after learning the basic and advanced swinging mechanics, and will give you the most control over your swing. Of course, Left Stick won’t harm your swing in any way, as you’re just using another joystick to swing and aim. So if that feels more natural to you than Right Stick, you should opt for that.

If you’re just starting out in PGA Tour 2K25 or you’re using a keyboard and mouse, though, I actually suggest trying out 3 Click. 3 Click is the best choice for beginners who are struggling with swinging using a thumbstick, or those without a thumbstick at all.

Beginners might find it difficult to get off accurate swings using a joystick, so 3 Click is a great Swing Input to get used to the controls in PGA Tour 2K25. It’s also far easier to use your mouse to swing and aim than to press additional buttons if you’re on PC.

In the end, though, if you’re looking for the most recommended Swing Input option in PGA Tour 2K25, it’s Right Stick. Don’t let that stop you from trying out other options if you’re not sure about which one to pick, however.

And that does it for everything you need to know about the Swing Input options and the best one to use in PGA Tour 2K25.
