Skill Rating in EA FC 25 shows how well you’ve performed against other players and represents your overall skill level. Your performance and result in each match will determine your rating, and the scoring system hasn’t changed from FC 24.

Match Results
Of course, whether you win or lose a match will have an impact on your Skill Rating. It is the primary determinant for your rating — losing a match will decrease it while winning increases it.
Margin Of Result
Beyond just winning and losing, the margin of result also has an impact on EA Sports FC Skill Rating. Being battered 7-0 won’t put your Club into virtual administration, but it will dent your ratings more than a humble 2-0 loss.
Opponents Skill Rating
Just as scoring a goal in a lower-tier league is often seen as less impressive than in top-flight football, your Skill Rating will change depending on the strength of your opponent. If you beat someone with a lesser Skill Rating than you, your rating will improve but less so than beating someone more highly rated.
Likewise, a loss against someone with a higher Skill Rating than you will have a softer blow on your rating, and you’ll face a greater point deduction if you’re defeated by someone with a lower Skill Rating.
Match Type
This one is more for Clubs than Rivals. A League game is relatively more low stakes when compared to Playoffs matches, and that’ll be reflected in your Club Skill Ratings. Other factors will play into this as well, but you will see more improvements in your Skill Rating if you win Playoff games as opposed to a regular League match.
For Clubs, the Top 200 leaderboard is determined based on Skill Ratings.
Does Skill Rating Affect Matchmaking In EA Sports FC?
Yes, your Skill Rating will be considered when you’re matchmaking in the Rivals Elite Division. Once you’re among the elites, there is no being relegated down. So, to make sure matches aren’t too hard or too easy on you, Skill Rating will come into the picture.
But, it is not the only factor. Other things like your location and platform (in case you’ve disabled crossplay) will be considered too. Still, matchmaking might sometimes be unreasonable and pit you against players with a much higher Skill Rating if the server can’t tick all the boxes for a fairer match.
