Undisputed: Best Punch Sets, Ranked

Find the right fit for your style!

In Undisputed, punching styles aren’t just aesthetic — they determine your style and how you generally approach fights. Some boxers like to take the fight to their opponent, while others prefer to find the flow and rely on counter-punching to catch opponents off-guard.

There are quite a few different punching sets in Undisputed, but here, we’ll rank the very best ones that you should absolutely give a try.

Ranking The Best Punch Sets In Undisputed

Deontay Wilder (Unique)

Former WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder is widely known for his ridiculous power. And his punch set is perfectly suited for his wild style. Complete with wide swinging hooks and no-look power punches, Wilder’s unique punch set is perfect for anyone looking to build a boxer who might lack in several technical categories, but make up for it in the ability to change — or end — a fight in a flash with one punch.

Peek-a-Boo

The peek-a-boo boxing style is one of boxing’s most recent and effective disciplines. Perfected by the late great Cus D’Amato, many of its practitioners have been some of the most accomplished boxers in history.

Primarily a counter-punching philosophy, the peek-a-boo style abandons the stereotype that counter-punchers should absorb pressure. Instead, if encourages moving forward, slipping shots, and then punching with “bad intentions.” If you prefer to counter-punch but don’t like to be too passive, then this is the one for you.

Canelo Alvarez (Unique)

Arguably one of the best pound-for-pound competitors of his generation, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez has held world championships in four different weight classes, an insane feat for any boxer. And he got to where he is with what he does best — having a great ring IQ and being one of the most effective counter-punchers in boxing history.

Unsurprisingly, Canelo’s punch set is made up of a ton of animations that are quick and effective when used in conjunction with defensive prowess. If you’re the counter-punching type, this is arguably the best option to use in the game. I would advise caution to anyone who likes to fight on the front foot, though. Even though this punch set could work, it’s obviously made with counter-punching in mind.

Roy Jones Jr.

Roy Jones Jr. holds the distinction of being one of the few boxers in history to win a world championship in both the middleweight and heavyweight divisions. And he got there by being one of the most well-rounded and skilled boxers the sport has ever seen.

Jones’ punch set is a perfect mixture of animations suited to both speed and power. He can jab and score points with the best of them, but he can also turn an opponent’s lights out at the flick of a switch. No matter what style of boxing you prefer, Roy Jones Jr.’s punch set is a one-size-fits-all solution for any of your needs.

Floyd Patterson

You know all of those good things we just said about Roy Jones Jr.’s punch set? Well, all of that applies to Floyd Patterson’s punch set, and then some. One of the heavyweight division’s very best, Patterson’s lean 6’0″ frame and long reach led him not only to Olympic gold, but also becoming the youngest heavyweight champion ever at only 21 years of age in 1956.

Patterson may not have the same list of accolades as contemporaries such as Joe Frazier, Muhammed Ali, or George Foreman, but for some reason, his punch set is very meta in Undisputed and allows for effective punching no matter the kind. Whether you want to counter-punch, go on the offensive, or just swing bombs, the animations for Patterson’s punches just flow extremely well.

Mind you, these are just my opinions of the punch sets I’ve used in the past. So feel free to let us know which ones you’ve had success with in the comments!
