Timothee Chalamet came in contact with the Chief Content Officer of WWE, Triple H, and asked him for a huge request. However, his wish as a fan was denied, but with fair reason.
Chalamet has stated publicly that he grew up as a fan of professional wrestling. He recently got the chance to meet with the current WWE Champion himself, Cody Rhodes, during the press tour for his newest movie, Marty Supreme.
The two had a conversation on Rhodes’ podcast, What Do You Wanna Talk About? where Chalamet revealed that he requested Triple H to book the iconic Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan, NY. However, the Game told the 29-year-old actor that it was impossible to hold a show at that venue and make money there.
I want to go see a show at Hammerstein. I talked to Triple H. He said it’s basically impossible to make money there. He said there’s one elevator you have to load everything in and out of.“
Cody Rhodes Would Back Triple H’s Reason
Timothee Chalamet would love to see another show happen at the iconic Hammerstein Ballroom venue. The venue possesses an aura around itself and is home to one of the most memorable moments in WWE history.
Some moments were so incredibly memorable in fact, that Chalamet is yearning to see one more happen again. However, Triple H doesn’t think it can happen since it poses a logistical nightmare for the company to manage the crowd.
Cody Rhodes heard The Game’s reason for denying the Wonka star’s request and chose to back him up on it. The American Nightmare stated that he thinks The King of King was right for saying no and explained that the Hammerstein Ballroom has the worst back-of-house service. He also added that it’s freezing inside the venue from the open windows.
He’s right. And I appreciate that he gave you logistics because at least he was thinking about it. The other thing is, it’s the worst back of house ever. God bless Manhattan Center and Hammerstein. It’s open windows, freezing, there’s no room for anything.
