Tour de France 2022 offers a host of new features, including a new Race of the Moment mode, which, for the first time, will let players compete against virtual cyclists from all over the world.
Players looking for competition are presented with new challenges each week. Riders can try to control a specific team or reach a certain goal, like scoring the most points on a mountain stage or finishing highest in the rankings.
Each week, the performance of each player will be recorded on an online leaderboard, so a new winner can be crowned each week. Based on their ranking, players earn bonus points. These points contribute to their monthly and yearly rankings, and badges are presented to players who achieve the best results.
Every competitor will face the same issue in this mode, since it will not be possible to save mid-stage or to bring in replacements. The first races that will be counted toward the annual ranking will begin on July 1, the start of the Grand Boucle.
Tour de France 2022 will launch on June 28 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Pro Cycling Manager 2022 will release on June 9 on Steam.
