Adding fuel to the fire, a well-known Korean streamer famous for their FM content has reached their breaking point with FM26 and decided to walk away from it entirely.

SI sponsored him to play three seasons and promote the game. But he just couldn’t enjoy the game. At the end of one of his streams, he brutally gives his opinion about the game:

“Whether it’s checking records or looking at other clubs, I just don’t feel like doing anything. I end up just skipping straight to the matches.”

“FM is a text-based game, but now reading the text feels stressful. That’s the biggest problem.”

He goes on to talk about improvements as well. However, these improvements can’t make up for all the problems.

FM26’s main appeal is the world-building and micromanagement between matches. It’s about managing a player/team/league and taking it to the top. Sure, the matches look pretty, but that’s not what FM is about. The streamer also talks about this,

“The in-game graphics have improved a lot, but the match engine still feels disappointing.”

“If you just want to watch matches, you might as well play the FC series. There’s no reason to play FM anymore.”

He didn’t talk too much about the game as it was a sponsored stream. But he made his opinion known. Going so far as to ask SI to make a better FM27.

“I have a lot more to say, but since this is a sponsored stream, I’ll stop here.”

“Lastly… don’t bother sponsoring next time, just make FM27 a good game.”
