Tom Brady Puts The Patriots At No 1 After Blasting Their ‘Easiest’ Schedule. Fans React To His Power Rankings

Tom Brady does not usually create this much discussion, but his newest NFL power rankings did exactly that. Through 13 weeks of the 2025 NFL season, he surprised many people by placing the New England Patriots at No. 1.

Some argue that the Patriots are not a true contender because of their easy schedule. Still, you can only beat the team in front of you, and even Brady has been impressed by what he has seen so far.

Brady’s ranking gained even more attention after he watched his former team defeat the New York Giants 33-15 on Monday Night Football. That performance pushed him to move the Patriots to the top of his updated power rankings.

“After a serious drought, the New England Patriots are number one in the power rankings. New England hasn’t played the league’s hardest schedule. It’s actually been the easiest. But this team passes the eye test, and Vrabel had them flying around on all three phases on Monday night. So what do you think is the curse real? Well, the Pats head into a bye this week. So good timing to avoid a loss,” said Brady.

Brady also listed the Dallas Cowboys at No. 10, followed by the Jacksonville Jaguars, San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, Green Bay Packers, Seattle Seahawks, Chicago Bears, and Denver Broncos. The order surprised many analysts across the league.

Easy schedule or not, the Patriots’ success has been boosted by Drake Maye, who has looked like one of the best deep-ball passers in the league this season. He has completed 71.5% of his 386 passes for 3,412 yards, 23 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He has also scrambled 81 times for 319 yards and two rushing touchdowns, making him a strong MVP candidate.

How Everyone’s Responding To His Patriots Crown

Reactions across the league have been mixed. One fan reacted with excitement, writing, “If Brady’s putting them at No. 1, that means they’re officially terrifying.” Many agreed, saying Brady’s choice shows how dangerous the Patriots could be if they keep improving.

Another fan shared a more emotional response: “Tom Brady finally got one right! Patriots back on top where they belong. Good Lord willing, they’ll bring that Lombardi home to Foxboro. Amen to that!” Comments like this showed how energized the New England fan base is again.

Not everyone was on board, though. A frustrated viewer criticized Brady’s delivery, saying, “Tom, stop reading some intern’s script Fox emailed to you. Just speak your mind. Your delivery of someone else’s words sucks, and there’s no way you would say things this way and phrase things like this.” This group believes Brady sounds less natural than he once did.

Others simply had fun with his memory slip about his MVP season. One person joked, “He said ‘I even think I won an MVP that year’… dude was so good he forgets when he won an MVP.” The line quickly became one of the most reposted comments of the night.

For analysts, this moment still feels like classic Brady. His comments continue to shape conversations even in retirement. Whether he truly believes the Patriots are the top team or simply wants to highlight their progress, his voice still carries weight across the league. With the AFC race heating up, every comment from him becomes part of the wider discussion.
