It’s no understatement to say that the majority of the video game industry is waiting on Grand Theft Auto 6 to drop. It’s set to shatter sales records and player counts for a video game and should be a major kickstart to the industry as a whole. With the release date of GTA 6, pre-orders, and a new trailer all being in the news lately, though, it feels like some people are forgetting about what makes the franchise so great: its content.
Naturally, we’re all about sports here, so when it comes to GTA 6, we’re primarily interested in that aspect of the game. While it might take a backseat to the crime-riddled missions and open-world activities, GTA has historically offered a decent helping of sports content. So, with that in mind, we’re here today to talk about what kinds of sports content we want to see in GTA 6 when it, hopefully, drops in November 2026.
We’ll list a few sports minigames and explain why we want to see them in the sections below.
Golf/Putt Putt

With GTA 6 being spiritually set in the great state of Florida, we can expect the weather to be nice and the grass to be green year-round. This makes it a perfect scenario for Rockstar Games to finally expand upon the golf minigame from GTA 5. In GTA 5, you can play a nine-hole round of golf at the beautiful Los Santos Golf Club.
However, we’d love to see this expanded into a full-fledged 18-hole golf game with co-op play and maybe some different courses. Also, with Florida being known for its many mini-golf courses, Rockstar could also take this opportunity to add a playable putt-putt golf minigame. This way, you could spend time focusing on and playing actual golf, or goofing off at a vibrant and extravagant mini-golf course.
Bowling, Arcades, And Laser Tag
Another staple of the Sunshine State is themed bowling alleys that also come packed with a full arcade and laser tag. While it might be difficult for the developers to add a fully functional arcade with both bowling and laser tag, seeing one of these minigames, or a combination of them, would fit right in with the setting of GTA 6.
Forza-Style Racing

Racing cars, boats, planes, and other vehicles have been a part of the GTA franchise for decades. It’s almost a guarantee that you’ll be able to race in some aspect when GTA 6 hits the shelves.
However, in the story mode of GTA 5, you were fairly limited in the races you could compete in. For street races specifically, there were only five, and they were limited to Franklin’s character. In GTA 6, we hope to see a broader range of races that have a little more structure. While they don’t need to be as long and detailed as races in something like Forza Horizon 6, Rockstar has a chance to silently creep in on that marker with GTA 6.
Fishing
It’s certainly not a traditional sport, but seeing a full fishing minigame in GTA 6 would be incredibly cool. Not only does it fit the game’s setting perfectly, but it’s something Rockstar has never dipped its toes into. We saw a brief shot of characters fishing in one of the GTA 6 trailers, so there’s a high likelihood we’ll get to catch some Vice City fish, but the extent is currently unknown.
Skateboarding
It would be a miraculous turn of events if Rockstar managed to turn EA’s gross mishandling of the recent Skate. game and turned it into a win for GTA 6. Skate. was supposed to be the next great skateboarding game, a successor to the amazing Skate 3, but it flopped fairly hard after a strong start. So, why not have GTA 6 offer a skateboarding game that blows everything else on the market out of the water? Vice City is the perfect map for a board, and while it likely wouldn’t be as deep as a dedicated skateboarding game, the minigame could be everything players wanted from Skate.
