The Golf Club 2019 Featuring PGA TOUR Gameplay Video - TPC Boston Hole 16

HB Studios has released a new gameplay video, showing off TPC Boston at hole 16. The game is scheduled to release sometime this summer and includes the PGA Tour license. Summerlin, Scottsdale, Sawgrass, Southwind, Deere Run and Boston will be featured in career mode.

PGA TOUR Career Mode
Users will begin their career in the Web.com Tour qualifying tournament, the start of a journey to become a PGA TOUR member. Finishing in the top 75 in this event qualifies for entry into the Web.com Tour. In a streamlined season, users will have multiple ways of advancing to the PGA TOUR to begin their professional career. Finishing in first place in three of the six events will automatically earn a PGA TOUR card for early promotion. Finishing in the top 25 on the money list after the six events will also earn early promotion to the PGA TOUR. Once on the PGA TOUR, users will join the PGA TOUR and compete for the FedExCup over 32 events. Throughout each PGA TOUR season, not only will they compete for the top spot on the leaderboards, they will be working to achieve sponsorship goals for in-game rewards and competing against rivals.

Rivalries
Once on the PGA TOUR, a player’s skills are noticed, leading to a rivalry with another player on TOUR. Over the following events they will compete head-to-head to prove who is the better player, not only on the leaderboard but also statistically. Players will compete for points in Number of Strokes, Front 9 Score, Back 9 Score, Birdies or Better, No Bogey Round, Best Hole and Worst Hole. The first player who reaches 20 points overall wins the rivalry and the bragging rights before moving on to the next challenge.

Sponsor Goals
On the road to the FedExCup Playoffs, a player will attract the attention of various sponsors, who will offer an opportunity to represent their brand while completing challenges throughout each season. The better the performance, the more attention a player will draw from sponsors. A player will have to manage partnerships and challenges for rewards. Each sponsor comes with three levels where a player will have to complete 1-3 challenges to receive a reward.

Licensed Courses
Throughout the PGA TOUR Career Mode, players will experience some of the most well-crafted user generated courses, as well as the authentic PGA TOUR tournament courses: TPC Summerlin (home of the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open), TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course (Waste Management Phoenix Open), TPC Sawgrass’ THE PLAYERS Stadium Course (THE PLAYERS Championship), TPC Southwind (FedEx St. Jude Classic and future home of the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Championship), TPC Deere Run (John Deere Classic), and TPC Boston (Dell Technologies Championship).

  1. Crowd and the branded stands look good and create an actual experience. I hope the rebrand to “2019” doesnt mean this will become a yearly release.

This is the first piece of content I've seen that makes me really want to play The Golf Club. I hope gameplay is improved as well. It looks really good.
As long as they keep working on the game and improving it, I have no problem with it being an annual release. The first two editions I found terrible disappointing, so I'm glad they keep plugging away.
I'm hoping that each golfer will have their own unique player likeness. In my opinion on the past 2 versions, each player almost seem the same as far as motion, stance, swing, reaction, etc
I took part in the BETA, and I found the ball physics were way off. All greens were like putting on hardwood floors. Ball did not have any variety of speed/conditions. Hope they fix this.

That's pretty much how the first two games were also. So putting and shots to the green are unchanged? That's a bummer because that's an area that needs some improvement. I actually like the way putting is done in this game. Its hard, but not too hard and I have gotten used to it having played the last two games but shots to the green are almost uncontrollable at times and your ball rolls forever.
They really need to decouple the conditions from the courses. Should be able to set whatever wind, time of day, speeds you want for any given round. There are courses I won't even play now because the greens are like cement.

They have - that was a big (and very good!) change from TGC 2
TGC 2019 allows users to specify conditions and time of day for their rounds.

Probably the most important change to the game. There's great courses on TGC2 that have the green set to "Fast" and, while I can appreciate the need and want for realism, made them just a chore to play and no fun at all. Being able to change this before the round instead of going all the way through the course creator will be very nice.

    Sweet! :59:
I have never played the Golf Club. but I have played all the Tiger Woods Games. What I noticed by looking at the game play of the different Golf club games is that when you hit a approach shot into a green with a wedge there is no sign of natural back spin. in fact the ball even seems to release about 10 to 15 yards like it was hit by a 5 iron instead of a wedge. Will the new game be the same way? I love calculating my full wedge yards so I could hit past the cup and have it spin back.
    Thanks Victor
My main beef with TGC has been the concrete greens. It sounds like 2019 will allow us to select green speeds per round, so I'm hopeful we'll be able to dial it down to get some more accurate approach shots (including spin).
