The Crew 2 Trailer - Open Beta Available Now

Ubisoft has just released a new gameplay trailer for The Crew 2, showing off what’s in the open beta. Fans can preload The Crew 2 open beta now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. It starts at 1AM PST on June 21 and ending at 1AM PST on June 25.

UPDATE: (6-21) The open beta is available.

Giving players access to the game’s entire open world – a scale model of the entire US, with nine major cities and seven distinct regions – the open beta is a chance to climb through the first two levels of the progression system. As you earn followers by competing in events, pulling off street stunts, and doing just about any other cool thing you can think of, you’ll unlock new vehicles, motorsports disciplines, and events in which to compete. Also, just like in the full version, you’ll be able to explore alone or team up with up to three friends in co-op during the beta period.

Fans can register for a chance to win a Harley Davidson Iron 883, the real thing, right here.

The Crew 2 will be available on June 29 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. If you purchase the Gold Edition, you can play three days early on June 26.

  1. Open beta is now live.
I had to delete the closed beta to fit room on my PS4 HDD (for Trials Fusion and COD:BO3), but it looks like I'll have to free up room for the open beta again.
I'd like to do a little more exploring and actually do some online stuff. Let me know if anybody wants to join up somehow this weekend. I should be available.
I tried it on XB1...game somehow had more of a "generic" feel to it than the first one, oddly.  Handling on cars was good.  Planes just not fun for me.  Boats were ok but nothing to write home about.  I actually thought the boat racing would be more exciting.   Sense of speed with the boats and planes isn't exciting...I guess those are harder to get right than cars.
I played quite a bit yesterday on the 1X, both with friends and by myself. Game looks real good on the X no pop up at all , unlike horizon 3. The handling is decent and there are adjustments if needed , although the "Motocross" bikes handle like a wet turd. If you're going to feature a certain type of vehicle in your game you should do some research on how they handle in real life , the MX bikes aren't even close.
Really had a lot of fun with friends racing Cars, Trucks, and boats. Not sure how many people you can have in your crew but someone said only 4???? I hope not, should be at least double that. It appears there are a ton of vehicles in the game and some customization as well.
Seems like there will be a lot to do and I think the game will be decent but I'm going to hold off on buying it, if MXGP Pro was not coming out a couple days after this I'd probably pick it up but I know there's no way it would get any play time because I'm psyched for some Motocross!!!!!!!!!
I've played several of the  betas on both pc and Xbox... I really want to love it (great graphics, lots to do including just exploring and sight seeing) but there's just something about the game that's putting me off and i can't quite put my finger on it.. the handling is generally OK and the vehicle types all feel different (some are more fun than others though)..
Maybe its the inconsistency in the physics and collisions... it looks real but a full on crash involves bouncing back a foot or so from a brick wall... you can fly up a skyscraper with your planes wheels on the actual building but clip a wing on the edge and you reset... you can drive through signs and race direction arrows without slowing down unless it's a sign the devs don't want you to drive through and then hitting a plastic or wooden hoarding is like hitting a brick wall... you can drive through some bushes and trees as if they aren;t even there but hit a medium or large tree and you stop dead or get stuck in the scenery.

this is head and shoulders above crew 2 and in some ways completely stomps on forza horizon 3 as far as enjoyable road driving

I tried it last night on PS4...I like the car and boat racing, but am not crazy nor any good at any airplane racing in a game !! I don't find this part of the game to be necessary, IMHO ! :y11:

But, this is Crew 2... :y11:
The Crew was such a sh*tty game that I have zero faith The Crew 2 will be much better, especially since Ubisoft is not a proven driving game developer.
There's not a chance in hell this game will be better than Forza Horizon 4, a proven franchise of quality.
I'm on PS4 so Forza isn't an option for me. Is The Crew 2 worth the money? I don't have many people to "crew up" with, but I've heard it's solid even for loners
Yes, definitely worth it. There's a ton of stuff to do from racing to cruising around in free roam and finding loot boxes to upgrade your vehicle.

    same
    i played the beta
and it was impressive however the game engine is a modified watch dogs 2 engine
which means great scenery and ground textures and water and trees but pretty generic buildings so the cities are kinda meh.
BUT the cars the sense of 60fps and lighting all make it better
when i played it said who need horizon
so i guess that my answer
