The Art of Boxing: Early Access Gameplay Impressions

Folks are desperate for a new boxing game, and so Prince Horton checked out the Art of Boxing, a video game in early access on Steam. The game is very early, so take the video for what it is and try not to jump to too many conclusions — as someone who has worked in game development, yes, games can and do look this rough early on and sometimes almost until the end when they magically get way less buggy.

Horton mostly just looks at gameplay here, but there is a career mode available as well right now.

  1. My first impressions...
The two boxers look like to brothas at a cookout in the backyard of somebody house who had 1 too many Corona's and decided to knuckle up. Llloyd Gayweather Jr. wearing the USA trunks and Lime Green Timbs in the ring lol!!!
The belts! lol!  There's actually some potential here. I like some of the movements and idle stances. In the hands of a bigger studio, this game has a shot at being legit.
How is it that the old 3-d boxing game for the old Pc plays, moves and looks better than what i'm seeing here. Maybe if this were a cell phone game that was joystick compatible, i might pay $5.99 for it. And that's a strong maybe.

In all seriousness, we need Ring King back.
