Taylor Swift’s presence in the NFL has been growing ever since she started dating Travis Kelce in 2023. The “Blank Space” singer has made quite a few appearances to cheer on her partner in his games. So, naturally, fans were expecting her to arrive for Kelce’s opener in the NFL.

Speculation was rife regarding whether the 14-time Grammy-winning artist would touchdown in Brazil. However, Swift didn’t decide to make an appearance for her partner’s first game of the season, much to the fans’ disappointment. Reports have come out stating that she decided against making the trip to Brazil due to the cost of security for her safety.

A report from The Daily Mail deemed Swift’s journey to Brazil impractical, with the travel and security costs being too high to justify the trip. She would’ve had to send her security team a few days ahead to Brazil to make sure it was safe for her to travel there. The ends ultimately didn’t justify the means for what would’ve been only a few hours in São Paolo.

Brazil Is A Huge Fan Of Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is one of the most beloved pop stars in the entire world. She has one of the most fiercely loyal fan bases, whose influence has even spread to the NFL. Her fans were even waiting for her in São Paolo, Brazil, for Travis Kelce’s first game of the season.

It seems, though, she might’ve still enjoyed watching the game on her own time. Especially, since the fans showed off all of their love for the “August” singer. Many fans had signs posted up that showed off their admiration for Swift and Kelce’s relationship.

Moreover, even broadcast hosts and reporters for the game had masks and t-shirts dedicated to Swift. We’re sure that the Grammy award-winning artist certainly would’ve gotten a kick out of seeing glimpses of it.

The Engagement Didn’t Bring Kelce Good Luck In His First Game

The announcement of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement broke the entire internet. The announcement came on Instagram as the couple embraced each other in a wholesome sight. Many fans are still celebrating their union as the two look to tie the knot.

However, it looks like the high from the engagement didn’t ultimately bring Kelce good luck for his first game of the NFL season. The Kansas City Chiefs faced off against the Los Angeles Chargers. Justin Herbert delivered an outstanding performance, leading the Chargers to win 27-21 in Brazil.

While the season might’ve opened up on a downer for Kelce, he still has a lot of time to improve. Perhaps the next time his fiancée makes an appearance, he will be more than ready for the action.
