  1. I was going to get it anyways but it's great to see this on GwG on Xbox Live.
That said, with there being 8 stadiums I want to create 8 different and customized teams with players/teams from past arcade/sim-like games such as Bases Loaded (players like Norkus and Paste come to mind) and Baseball Stars (American Dreams, Ninja Black Sox, etc) with some 1980s RBI Baseball thrown in for good measure. Basically just a mish-mash of a bunch of older games but customized down to a tee. The customization options should allow me to do this and place them all in the same league with their own home stadiums and play through it, right?

Nice move by MS. Would like Sony to follow up, although I doubt they will because they don't have as much of a reason to offer it for "free".
This likely means that regardless of how well SMB2 does, MetalHead is going to get paid pretty well by MS for this. So it's good to see an indie sports dev being successful.

Sony offered last years Super Mega Baseball for free at launch for PSN Plus users.

SMB launched in 2014. They might have offered it for free on plus back then (although I think I remember paying full price for it on PS3), or at some point after launch - don't remember. I just know I had the game on day one.
Definitely wouldn't surprise me if they had offered it on Plus at some point, though.

It's all customization stuff. Specifically from a comment they made on twitter
"They contain customization content like additional logo components, pre-made team designs, player tattoos and new styles of eyewear"

With the game being free, I can now feel better about buying the DLC!
I watched some beta footage on YouTube and definitely excited for this game to be officially released. The fact that it's free on Xbox makes it even better!

It was free on PS4 when it released on the new console.

Once you download it,it's yours for good then. Very surprised this ones free like this because it would get sales from people at $20 or even $30,especially since this is the best baseball option for xbox1.

I would think Metalhead is still getting their $$$.

No doubt. They wouldn't have a brand new game on the free game program without being compensated by MS for it.
After playing the beta for weeks this has my sports game of the year nood. It reminds me of when games were fun. This is like Baseball Stars, OG RBI, and Ken Griffey Jr.s baseball.
My only decision is X1 or PS4.
