Going to Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium will cost a family of four tens of thousands of dollars. This includes tickets, flights, and very expensive stadium food. As the Seattle Seahawks get ready to play the New England Patriots, fans are looking at the huge costs needed to watch the game live in Santa Clara, California.
The biggest cost is getting into the stadium. According to Heavy.com, average Super Bowl resale tickets usually cost between $4,000 and $6,000 per person before service fees. The cheapest single ticket available costs about $4,785, and that seat is in the upper 400 sections.
Mid-level seats cost $8,000 to $15,000 per person. For a family of four sitting together, even upper-level corner seats will cost roughly $18,000 to $26,000 just for tickets. Prices might drop slightly in the final days before the game, but they almost always go back up right before kickoff.
The total cost goes far beyond just buying game tickets
Flights and hotels add thousands more to the trip. A basic economy flight from New York City to San Jose Mineta International Airport costs between $500 and $700 per person. For a family of four, that adds another $2,000 to $2,800 to the total.
Hotels during Super Bowl weekend are very expensive. Nightly rates are often over $1,000. A three or four-night stay can easily cost several thousand dollars. There are also other costs like rental cars, rideshare services, and parking fees near Santa Clara.
The NFL offers official game-day packages starting at $7,500 per person. These include pregame events, live music, and an open-bar tailgate. While fans enjoy Super Bowl parties and celebrations, the official packages don’t include flights and hotels in that price. For a family, these official packages make the total spending much higher.
Food inside Levi’s Stadium is extremely expensive. The stadium has a special menu for Super Bowl Sunday. The LX Hammer Burger costs $180. It includes 3.5 pounds of braised beef shank and blue cheese fondue and feeds four people.
Other food options include the Super-Hot Chinatown Dog for $20 and the Gilroy Garlic Steak Frites for $35. The stadium also serves specialty cocktails like the Fog City Frozen Irish Coffee and the Karl the Fog Misty Spritz, which has pink cotton candy on top to look like fog.
Even basic food and drinks will add hundreds of dollars to the weekend cost. Some athletes recovering from serious injuries understand the dedication fans show by spending this much. When adding $20,000 for tickets, several thousand for flights and hotels, and hundreds more for stadium food and drinks, attending Super Bowl 60 costs more than most families can afford.
