Stefon Diggs, the star wide receiver for the New England Patriots, is facing a new lawsuit for defamation just days before he plays in Super Bowl LX. The lawsuit was filed by a man who says he used to work for Diggs. He claims the NFL player falsely accused him of stealing a Ferrari, which led to a violent attack by members of Diggs’ inner circle.
According to TMZ Sports, the problem started in July 2024. The man says Diggs asked him to move his Ferrari from Miami to New York and then to Houston. The luxury car was stolen while it was in Houston. The man says police investigated and found that the Ferrari was taken by third parties in what appears to be a planned theft.
Despite what police found, the man claims Diggs told people in their social circles that he had stolen the car. The man strongly denies this accusation and was never arrested or charged for the theft. He says Diggs’ false claims seriously damaged his concierge and consulting business, which depends on trust.
The accusations went beyond words and turned into harassment
The man claims that after Diggs started spreading the false theft story, members of the wide receiver’s circle began confronting him. People close to Diggs allegedly approached him at restaurants in Houston and Miami. They even went to his home and demanded he return gifts Diggs had given him over time.
The situation got much worse in December 2025. The man says two men who are part of Stefon Diggs’ circle attacked him at Tootsie’s Cabaret in Miami. The lawsuit names Stefon’s brother, fellow NFL player Trevon Diggs, as a defendant. It claims Trevon saw the entire attack and did nothing to stop it. The man suffered multiple injuries in the alleged attack, including a torn ACL.
The lawsuit includes a text message from Stefon Diggs sent in January 2025. In the message, Diggs allegedly told the man he was “responsible and accountable for all actions of those around me.” This appears to be an admission of responsibility for what his people do. While Diggs deals with this legal trouble, other NFL stars like Cooper DeJean were spotted at Super Bowl parties preparing for the big game.
The lawsuit claims Diggs is liable for defamation and civil conspiracy. It also claims Diggs is responsible for the actions of the two men who allegedly carried out the assault. Both Stefon Diggs and Trevon Diggs are named as defendants, and the man is seeking damages.
The Diggs camp has not responded yet. The timing of this lawsuit, coming right before the Super Bowl, will likely get major attention in the news. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift made headlines with her Opalite lyrics targeting Travis Kelce’s ex, adding more drama to the Super Bowl spotlight.
