eFootball 2022It’s not uncommon for sports games to feel and play differently online vs. offline. As far back as I can remember, there has always been a light input delay when playing online, especially in PESwhich has struggled to adapt to the influx of online play by younger players. A slight delay when passing or shooting is somewhat understandable, but to have your players take a full touch instead of a first-time pass/flick is worrisome and can lead to negative consequences like your counterattack slowing down.

These kinds of issues, which happen regardless of what user assist level you play on, can’t be attributed solely to server lag because they’re not as prevalent offline. Instead, there is something fundamentally wrong with the way animations branch together or do not branch together causing drawn out animations. FIFA has the opposite issue where it’s far too easy to break out of animations, which results in unnatural looking animations and sometimes comical collisions.

F1 22 the lifeAlthough many of the new additions and improvements can be seen and felt outside of career mode, they have an impact inside the mode and give it a fresh underlying feel in a sea of familiarity. As far as the adaptive AI goes, although I didn’t have weeks and weeks to watch how the AI performs under the guise of “adaptive competitiveness,” I did have enough track time in career mode to see that the adaptive nature will most likely be a hit with some — and not so much with others.

The adaptive AI does work, and a sense of dramatic excitement coincides with its use. Still, for simulation fans of the sport, you will need to choose between consistently competitive or statistic-based results from the AI. We will have a lot more about adaptive AI in my final review, but for now, I can see merit in its use and why some may choose to keep that race option unchecked.

Without a doubt, the single biggest addition from last year’s game to Tour de France 2022 is the new Race of the Moment mode. Attempting to meet the demand for a way to compete online against others, the new mode has you trying to establish the fastest time in a race among AI competitors to put you at the top of a community leaderboard. It would obviously be preferable if there was a way to race against others online at the same time, but a smaller game like this can’t possibly have the resources to make that happen, especially with anything approaching the number of cyclists that would typically enter a Tour de France race.

With the mode updated regularly to have you racing on a new course, and the same variables like attributes and teammates kept the same for everyone, it makes for an effective way to see how your skills stack up against the top player.

Headliners Set 24 Postseason Luis GonzalezAdding to the 95 overalls is Postseason Luis Gonzalez. Gonzalez is a favorite for some groups out there, and I would probably be among them since I’m partial to players with open stances. If we just focus on LF, then he’s there with Pujols as the best overall one, but I don’t think he’s going to surpass Pujols. I also think he’s going to fall below Ketel Marte and Vidal Brujan still when it comes to “best” Headliners because the versatility obviously isn’t the same. He’s a slow, poor fielder, but he clearly has elite hitting stats against LHP and RHP. His 114 power against RHP is top tier, and then he has 87 vision to be a slugger with lower strikeout totals. Lastly, a Postseason card is still a big get while trying to do the George Brett collection.

The heart of most RPGs is its story, and WrestleQuest has quite the story to keep folks wanting more. Your journey begins at a gym where you’re introduced to the controls of WrestleQuest. These are taught by PAW’s commissioner or head booker, Mr. Stretch. Stretch often refers to the old tapes that he invites all the trainees to watch. These tutorials are quick and make for a fast learning curve. From there, you take over as a 2-D up-and-coming wrestler inspired by Macho Man himself: “The Muchacho Man” Randy Santos.

There are five fighting styles to choose from, each with a unique perk — powerhouse, showboat, sidekicks, technicians, and underdogs. Each class has a special bonus ranging from higher attack rates, improved defense, hype meter boosts, cheaper gimmicks, and so much more. I chose powerhouse, hoping to inflict optimal damage on my foes.
