Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Adds Pac-Man Content and In-Game Festival

Two of gaming's most iconic characters team up.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds was by far one of the best sports releases of 2025, and it only looks to improve further in 2026 and beyond. One of the major draws of the game has been SEGA’s efforts to promote collaborations. CrossWorlds already features characters from franchises like Persona, Yakuza, SpongeBob, and Minecraft. On January 7, SEGA is releasing another wave of premium DLC, this time with Pac-Man at the forefront.

The content will serve as a paid DLC add-on, though season pass owners will get it as an inclusion for no extra cost. For standard edition owners, the Pac-Man Pack will cost $5.99.

More To Come For CrossWorlds In 2026

As seen with previous premium DLC waves, SEGA will also be starting an in-game festival to celebrate the addition of Pac-Man. The “Pac-Man Festival” will feature multiplayer events that feature Pac-Man, the Ghosts, the new track, and special race rules. These festivals allow you to earn Festival Points that you can use to unlock exclusive rewards like decals, titles, and character gadgets

During my first impressions of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, I highlighted the fact that the character roster will continue to make this game better as time goes on. SEGA has done a great job of staying true to that idea within the first couple of months of launch, and 2026 is no different. According to the post-launch roadmap, we’re still due for characters from Mega Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and Avatar Legends.

There are also a good number of free racers that we have yet to get any information on. If this wave of content and great new content continues to have consistent quality, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds might just surpass Mario Kart World in terms of sheer fun for a lot of people.
