Skater XL Trailer - Introducing Easy Day High School

Skater XL, a game that evolves the skateboarding genre with its complete physics-based controls and community skate subculture, has posted a new video featuring Easy Day High School.

The new map features more than 20 locations inspired by historic California school skate spots. These real world locations have been woven into the design of the Easy Day High School map, including the Wallenberg Big 4 (Wallenberg High School), the Clipper Ledge (James Lick Middle school) and ‘Leap of Faith’ (Point Loma High School). Each area has been strategically integrated into the map in a way that opens up countless fun skating lines and creative possibilities.

Skater XL launches on July 28 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. A new launch date is still being worked out for Nintendo Switch fans.

Easy Day Studios has been showing off Skater XL recently in an effort to highlight the addition of some real pro skaters, a firmer launch date and a new downtown LA skating area. All those things are important, but it’s not what will end up making or breaking the game when it releases in July 2020 on PC and consoles. The core of the game — the skating mechanics, the vibes the game gives off and the community the studio nurtures — is really what will end up determining if the game has legs or not.

  1. Wait, I'm starting to lose track of skateboarding games coming out this year. Haha. It feels like a decade without any new skateboarding game and now we have 4 being released in 2020? This year has made no sense at all, so I guess 4 skateboarding games in 2020 makes some sense. Why the hell not?
