Skate Announces New Bug Fixes and Seasonal Changes

Changes are coming.

EA has released some decent updates for skate. in the past month, with the Season 1 launch bringing new content and the Skate-o-Ween event being fairly enjoyable. Today, a post from the developer team on the EA forums highlights new changes coming to the game. The update is already live, and it’s mainly a hotfix that addresses crashing issues and other bugs. However, we also got a roadmap of sorts for upcoming content in the coming weeks.

Building To The Maple Harvest Event

While October is officially over, spooky season looks to continue in skate. The Skate-o-Ween is continuing with its third week currently, and you can grab a free Lightrunner gift set this coming Friday. As for the November 4 hotfix, it addresses a major console issue that caused the game to crash when resuming from standby. This issue was reported by multiple PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players.

Other issues being tracked and addressed in the coming weeks include:

  • Xbox Series X|S players seeing larger update sizes
  • Connection errors to EA servers
  • Stunt target markers persisting outside Stunt Challenges (temporary fix: restart the game)

The 7-Ply Maple Harvest Event is just two weeks away, and a mini-blog is planned before the launch of the event to give us more details on what’s coming. From an older blog post, we know that this event centers around the history of the San Van Maple, the tree used for skateboard production in the world of skate. The event starts on November 18 and will run till December 2.

Feedback from Season 1 also unveiled some issues with event and seasonal currency balance. During Skate-o-Ween, many players had a surplus of event currency that they were unable to spend. The developers will address this issue by tuning the balance for the 7-Ply event.
