Tennis star Jannik Sinner and his girlfriend, Dutch model Laila Hasanovic, just made their relationship official in a new way. They appeared together at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix for their first public outing that wasn’t connected to his tennis career.
According to Sportskeeda, Laila has been seen in Sinner’s player box before, but this is the first time the couple stepped out together for a personal event. The appearance happened during the final race of the 2025 F1 season. Sinner is a huge fan of the sport and was excited to attend.
They watched Max Verstappen win the race, but that victory wasn’t enough for him to win the overall Drivers’ Championship. McLaren’s Lando Norris took the title instead, beating Verstappen by just two points after finishing third in Abu Dhabi.
Sinner visited the Ferrari garage during the race weekend
Since Sinner supports the Italy-based Ferrari team, he visited their garage during the event. He took a team photo with the squad and talked with their drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. Leclerc finished fourth in the Grand Prix on Sunday.
This public appearance is a big step forward for the couple. Laila was in Sinner’s player box when he won the ATP Finals in Turin, beating Carlos Alcaraz in the final. However, those appearances are usually seen as work-related. The relationship started as internet rumors earlier this year.
Sinner confirmed they were dating a few weeks ago during his victory speech in Vienna. He previously dated WTA player Anna Kalinskaya, but they broke up earlier in 2025. Like other sports couples making headlines, including Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding plans, Sinner and Hasanovic are now stepping into the public spotlight together.
Laila Hasanovic is a successful model. She has been modeling since she was a teenager and has worked on major campaigns for brands like Armani and Prada. She has nearly 500,000 followers on Instagram.
After Sinner confirmed they were dating, rumors spread that they were engaged. The rumors started when Laila posted a photo showing a diamond ring on social media. Fans thought the World No. 2 had proposed. Such relationship speculation is common in sports, much like Serena Williams’ recent comeback rumors that sparked fan confusion.
Sinner quickly shut down the rumors. He told reporters clearly that he had nothing to do with the ring. Sinner finished the 2025 ATP season ranked World No. 2, behind only Carlos Alcaraz. He won two Grand Slams and defended his title at the ATP Finals.
