Gameplay is shaped by the Echo System, which adds a layer of strategy through two resources, Sync and Entropy. Sync powers abilities like Boost and Shield, while Entropy fuels more aggressive moves like Strike and Overdrive. On top of that, the Dual Stick system separates steering and drifting, giving players more control through corners.

Each character brings their own special skills and soundtrack, tying directly into their role in the story and giving players different options depending on the event. Outside of the main mode, there are 32 tracks spread across four environments with all modes available right away. Team Races focus on coordination and strategy while Overdrive Challenge pushes high-risk racing. Score Challenge rewards chaining actions together and classic modes like Time Attack and Checkpoint round things out.

Multiplayer includes Ranked Team Races, Private Lobbies, Mixtape playlists and four-player split-screen. Progression across modes unlocks cosmetic items for vehicles along with additional content like cutscenes and artwork that add more context to the overall experience.
