Milestone released a new trailer for its upcoming narrative driven racing game Screamer, giving players a better idea of what to expect from its futuristic setting. The game arrives March 26 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC with early access starting on March 23.
The single player side of things revolves around The Tournament, a massive illegal street racing event where five rival teams made up of three characters each go head to head. Every car uses the Echo System, which allows drivers to pull off offensive and defensive moves during races. Each team has its own look and motivation, and those stories slowly come together through cinematic cutscenes featuring voice work from Troy Baker and Aleks Le.
Outside of the campaign, Screamer mixes fast arcade racing with combat focused modes. Team Races lean into teamwork by combining finishing positions with knockouts, while Overdrive Challenge turns things up by keeping a performance boost active from the start, where one crash ends the run. Score Challenge is all about chasing points across multiple races, while Time Attack and Checkpoint mode focus on speed, precision and constant pressure. Race mode opens things up with full control over rules and settings.
Multiplayer covers both competitive and laid back play with ranked team races, custom private lobbies, rotating online playlists and split screen support for up to four players offline.
