Russell Wilson's name appears in Jeffrey Epstein files released by DOJ, and now he's explaining exactly how it happened

That's one hell of a cold call to get.

Russell Wilson had to quickly explain why his name showed up in the newly released Jeffrey Epstein files. The NFL star’s name was included in the latest documents released by the Department of Justice. This clearly surprised the quarterback, and he posted a fast and strong response on social media.

According to the Daily Mail, Wilson didn’t hold back when he addressed the shocking mention. He posted a clear denial, stating, “NOPE!!! ABSOLUTELY NOT! Not TODAY Satan!” while quote-tweeting the specific part of the files that included his name.

Wilson didn’t leave fans hanging. He explained exactly how his name showed up in documents related to the disgraced financier, confirming that he never actually met the man. “Some Random plane broker tried to sell me a plane,” Wilson explained. “I had no idea whose plane and never bought the plane. Never talked nor Never met the man. Thank God!!!”

Wilson caught in innocent business mix-up

Wilson isn’t accused of any wrongdoing whatsoever. The plane broker probably mentioned Wilson’s name to Epstein as a potential high-profile buyer, which led to the inclusion in the files. NFL players often face unexpected challenges, similar to how Micah Parsons recently addressed his relationship with team ownership.

Just days after the file release, Wilson and his wife, Ciara, walked the red carpet together at a charity event in San Francisco during Super Bowl week. Ciara showed strong public support for her husband, and the couple posed for pictures, looking calm despite the sudden media attention.

The couple attended the third annual NFL Crucial Catch Dinner. This event was organized by the American Cancer Society and honored Miami Dolphins running back Alexander Mattison. Since 2012, the NFL and the American Cancer Society have worked together on this effort, supporting over 840,000 cancer screenings and helping to impact more than 1.9 million lives.

While Wilson’s inclusion was easily explained as a random business inquiry, another prominent figure named in the files had a much deeper connection. Giants part-owner Steve Tisch was found to have exchanged emails with Epstein. The messages reportedly showed the pair discussing several women and planning meetings with them.

With the Super Bowl approaching, many high-profile figures are in the spotlight, including Donald Trump’s upcoming Super Bowl plans. Tisch provided a statement regarding his connection with Epstein, expressing deep regret.

“We had a brief association where we exchanged emails about adult women, and in addition, we discussed movies, philanthropy, and investments,” Tisch confirmed. He made clear that he avoided serious invitations, noting, “I did not take him up on any of his invitations and never went to his island. As we all know now, he was a terrible person and someone I deeply regret associating with.”
