The PlayStation 5 and Switch are getting some retro goodies, as Rock It Games continues to revive classic Jaleco titles on modern platforms. The publisher has officially released Jaleco Sports: Goal! 2 and Jaleco Sports: Bases Loaded II on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, bringing a collection of NES and SNES-era games back into the spotlight.
Both titles are available now at a budget-friendly price point and follow earlier re-releases of the original Goal! and Bases Loaded collections. This latest drop focuses on the sequels, packaging multiple regional versions of each game into single compilations while adding modern features like rewind functionality and CRT filters.
Jaleco Sports: Goal! 2 Brings Classic Arcade Soccer Back

Jaleco Sports: Goal! 2 is essentially a love letter to early arcade-style soccer games, bundling together multiple versions of the sequel across different regions and platforms.
The collection includes Goal! 2 on NES, along with its regional variants, as well as Super Goal! 2 on SNES, offering slightly different gameplay styles depending on which version you choose.
One of the standout features of the NES version is its World Cup-style tournament mode, where players can compete with 24 international teams. You also have the option to tweak formations and rosters, which might seem like a staple now, but back then gave the game more depth.
On the other hand, the SNES version shifts perspective with a vertical viewpoint and introduces stadiums. The gameplay remains arcadey, fast-paced, and easy to pick up, which is how sports games were back in the early 90s and 80s.
Jaleco Sports: Bases Loaded II Expands On A Baseball Classic
On the baseball side, Jaleco Sports: Bases Loaded II offers a deeper and more strategic experience, compiling five different versions of classic Jaleco baseball titles into one package.
At the core is Bases Loaded II: Second Season, a sequel that introduced more advanced systems for its time, including player performance fluctuations, meaning athletes could go on hot streaks or fall into slumps throughout a season.
The game also features a full 130-game season mode, along with fictional teams packed with personality, like rosters themed around politicians or Hollywood stars.
Its SNES counterpart, Super Baseball II, pushes things further with early pseudo-3D visuals using Mode 7 technology, giving players a more dynamic view of the action.
For longtime fans, it’s a nostalgic trip back to simpler times. For newer players, it’s a chance to experience the roots of sports gaming.
