NBA 2K25 continues the longtime tradition of Park play in the series. From a simple Park to a City, this popular online street basketball mode has been a mainstay for the franchise. One of the reasons why it’s been so popular is because of the Rep system.
The Rep system allows you to earn rewards by simply playing games in the City. Winning games gives a little boost, but you can still earn even if you’re losing. In the past, rewards have varied from gameplay boosts to NBA mascot outfits, among other things.
The Rep feature went away for a couple of years, but was brought back in NBA 2K24 and has continued through NBA 2K25. The rewards here focus on things like MyCourt murals (MyCourt was also gone for a few years), gameplay boosts, and the awesome Cap Breakers which is a brand new feature for 2K25. Cap Breakers push your attributes past their max capacity.
But, Rise and Elite affiliation players will get a huge boost on their Rep that usually is around 60% once each Season of NBA 2K25 concludes ever 40 days. The boost is awarded to the winning affiliation who earned the highest percentage by the end of the season.
So, how does 2K decide which affiliation wins after a season? And how do you ensure that you get that tasty Rep boost if your affiliation won? Well, to answer the first question; it’s based on how well a combination of Rise and Elite players do during events (basically anything that’s taking place at the Event Center). So not only are you playing for in-event rewards, but you’re trying to help give your affiliation a boost in the season winning percentage as well.

As for earning your big boost, it’s important to make sure that you at least participated in an event during the season. This sends a signal to 2K to let them know that you did contribute, even if you played only a game or two. If your affiliation won, then you can expect your boost a few days after the start of the next season.
On top of that, you’ll also get a free jacket or shirt that states that your affiliation are the champs. There’s always one day where, if you rock the champions gear, you’ll receive 2x’s the Rep when you play games in The City. So not only do you get the huge boost, but also a little extra from the champions event.
It is important to note a few things though if you’re new. Season rewards and Rep rewards are two totally different systems. Season rewards can only be earned through each season while Rep rewards are permanent and can be earned for as long as you plan on grinding. Also, you can earn Season XP by playing NBA games, but you can’t earn Rep. Rep is only for games played in The City.
Finally, the last gen version of NBA 2K25 (PS4, Xbox One, Switch) does not have a Rep system. Those versions only focus on Season rewards. And this is simply because there are no affiliations on last gen consoles. There is still 2x’s Season XP for events, however.
Speaking of which, although the Season and Rep systems are different on current gen, they can help each other in a way. Each season, one of the rewards you can nab is an accessory that will give you 2x’s Rep for each game when you equip it. However, it’s important to note that the boost for that accessory only works for that current season, so you’d need to unlock them again in the next season. You can still wear the ones you’ve already unlocked though. You just can’t get the Rep boost, unfortunately.
