Rematch is getting its due!

Rematch just got nominated for the Best Multiplayer Game at the Golden Joysticks. When Rematch was announced, it threw the entire sports gaming community into a frenzy.

An arcadey football game that was similar to the likes of Rocket League, fans even called it “Rocket League Without Cars”. The concept of the game was brilliant, but the execution — let’s just say it wasn’t perfect. The game lacked polish and was plagued with bugs (it still is). From the glitchy goalkeeper dives to the clunky movement, the game was far from what fans expected. In fact, if you take a look at the official X post by Rematch on this announcement, you will notice a lot of negative comments about the game. Mainly, talking about how buggy the game is.

But does that mean the game does not deserve the award or the nomination? Definitely not, because at its core, the game is plenty fun. The initial weeks of Rematch were very entertaining; everyone was logging on with friends and pulling off the weirdest strategies.

What Does The Nomination Mean For Rematch?

This nomination could be a motivating factor for the developers. Rematch was released recently, and the game is far from complete. This nomination could force the team to speed up the work on the game. Season 1 of Rematch was decent at best, but it was a step in the right direction

With more time and new motivation to win the award, we could see improvements made to the game. From new content to bug fixes, there is a lot of room for improvement in the game. And, if the developers manage to deliver, Rematch might have a revival, just like The Finals did recently.

Overall, the decision to vote for the award is entirely up to you. Honestly, Rematch is a very cool game despite its flaws. Even if you log on after a long time, you will have at least an hour of fun every time.
