The Grass/Ghost-type Pokémon, Sinistcha, has proved itself to be quite a useful and versatile addition to any team. With several support abilities in its arsenal, Sinistcha can easily dismantle any win condition your opponent is setting up. But the greatest difficulty with support Pokémon is finding the right build that complements your team.
Pokémon Champions offers numerous held items and move sets for each Pokémon. Sinistcha is no exception. That is why today I’ll be going over the best builds and teams you can use with Sinistcha to really make it shine. Each build will synergize well with a different team composition, so make sure you read till the end.
Sinistcha’s Base Stats & Type

Before diving into what builds I recommend you run, let’s go over Sinistcha’s base stats. Here’s a list of all its base stats:
- HP: 71
- Atk: 60
- Def: 108
- SpA: 121
- SpD: 80
- Spe: 70
- Total: 508
As for its type, you guessed it, Sinistcha is a grass-ghost type Pokémon. Now, one of the biggest problems with that class is the weaknesses. Sinistcha is 2x weak to fire, ice, flying, ghost, and dark, while being immune to only normal and fighting. While versatile, you definitely want to keep an eye on which Pokémon you’re going up against.
Next up, we have abilities. Sinistcha has 2 abilities:
| Ability | Effect |
| Heatproof | Halves the damage the Pokémon takes from Fire-type moves and from being burned. |
| Hospitality | When the Pokémon enters a battle, it restores 1/4 of its ally’s max HP. |
Okay, now you have all the base information about the Pokémon. It’s time to put it into play.
Best Sinistcha Build And Teams

To build a proper team around Sinistcha, you need to understand where it stands out the most. Sinistcha is a Pokémon that can heal allies and redirect attacks towards itself, essentially playing the role of a tank. With its high SpA, it can also dish out decent damage while on the field.
However, I’d recommend slotting it more into a support role rather than a special attack damage role. The move, Matcha Gotcha, only has a 20% to inflict burning, making it quite inconsistent. This is the move set I recommend you run while playing Sinistcha as a support.
| Move | Effect |
| Matcha Gotcha | Has a 20% chance of burning targets. The user’s HP is restored by 1/2 of the damage dealt by this move. |
| Rage Powder | The user redirects opponents’ moves toward itself. This effect works only on single-target moves. |
| Trick Room | Gives the entire field the Trick Room status, where Pokémon with lower Speed stats move first, for 5 turns. |
| Imprison | The user gains the Sealing Off status, where any moves known by the Pokémon that caused this status cannot be used by its opponents. |
With this move set, you’ll want to take Mental Herb as your held item. The most common teammates with this setup will be:
- Sneasler
- Incineroar
- Garchomp
Other Pokémon you could slot in depend on the strategy you’re running. If you’re running a rain team, you’ll want Pelipper, Basculegion (male), and Archaludon. While King Gambit, Aerodactyl, and Floette are also common picks that fit well with Sinistcha.
Your main strategy with this Pokémon will be to set it up alongside a damage dealer and spam Hospitality. This will continuously heal the other Pokémon every time you swap. Rage Powder is great to absorb critical hits and save your primary Pokémon, just make sure Sinistcha doesn’t get knocked out while taking the hit.
Imprison and Trick Room are optional moves used to control the match’s momentum. If you feel like your opponent is setting up for a big play, throw in a Trick Room to flip the match on its head. Keep using these support moves to chip away at your opponents while keeping your team healthy.
