Thanks to its ability to call upon the clouds on frame one, having a handy Pelipper is considered a must when assembling rain teams in Pokémon Champions.
But even if setting it up is easy, what moves do they need to make full use of the new weather? And more importantly, which Pokémon will benefit the most from their presence? To answer both questions and force your opponents to bring an umbrella, here’s the best Pelipper build in Pokémon Champions, as well as their best teams for both singles and doubles.

The Best Pelipper Build In Pokémon Champions
As Pelipper’s worth is defined by its ability to set up Rain (which boosts your Pokémon’s Water DMG by 50% while also lowering the Fire DMG of opponents for the same amount), Drizzle is its only viable Ability for them. We will then pair it up with the Modest Nature for a boost in Sp, Atk, and invest 32 stat points in both Speed and Sp. Atk. For items, Focus Stach is considered the best pick for its KO resist. If you decided to give it to another Pokémon, we then recommend using recovery options like the Sitrus Berry.
Best Pelipper Moves
When looking at its moves, Pelipper will boast a selection featuring both meta support and Sp. Atk moves, with Tailwind being our main team-focused pick. Following the current meta, we will also be using Weather Ball for its massive STAB damage and Hurricane for its 100% Accuracy (both on Rain). The last move then depends on your mode, with U-Turn’s forced switch making it a must when setting up for singles and Protect being mandatory on doubles. To recap, here’s the best Pelipper build in Pokémon Champions:
- Ability: Drizzle
- Nature: Modest (↑ Sp. Atk ↓ Speed) / Timid (↑ Speed ↓ Stk) can also work
- Stat Investment:
- +32 Speed, +32 Sp. Atk, and +2 HP
- Item: Focus Stash / Sitrus Berry
- Moves:
- Tailwind
- Hurricane
- Wheater Ball
- U-Turn (Singles) / Protect (Doubles)
The Best Pelipper Teams In Pokémon Champions
As Pelipper is the ideal Rain applier and works best when setting up your true heavy hitters, their best doubles teams usually feature Archaludon or Basculegion as its Sp. Attackers, followed by Sinistcha and Incineroar as flex supports. For the final two lineup spots, we will then go with Sneasler for adaptability + DMG and Dragonite, Meganium (Mega Meganium), or Kingambit for a trusty sweeper.
Their best singles trio will also feature many of the above, with a lineup featuring Archaludon and either Flip Turn Starmie (Mega Starmie) or U-Turn Sneasler/Meowscarada being my premier choice. Here’s an overview of the best singles and doubles teams for Pelipper in Pokémon Champions:
