But although the power of Intimidate cannot be overstated, the Pokémon still needs the right build to showcase its unmatched versatility. To help you show all why the Gen VII evolution is considered the franchise’s biggest heel, here’s the best Incineroar build and teams in Pokémon Champions.

The Best Incineroar Build in Pokémon Champions

As Incineroar shines the most as a utility support, also capable of dealing serious damage while standing strong via its typing, we will start by giving it the Careful nature (↑ Sp. Def, ↓ Sp. Atk), +32 HP, and a welcome dose of both Def and Sp. Def. We will then use a Sitrus Berry to further boost survivability. Mentioned above, Intimidate is the only viable Ability here, as it allows Incineroar to lower the ATK and Sp. ATK of all enemies each time it takes the field.

Best Moves For Incineroar

When looking at its moves, Fake Out will be Incineroar’s bread and butter by allowing you to either get an advantage or kill set-ups on frame one via its flinch effect and +3 Priority. We will follow that up with two STAB (Same-Type Attack Bonus) options in Flare Blitz and Darkest Lariat, the former of which can easily one-tap opponents and apply Burn to those who withstand it. Remember, STAB moves do a 50% DMG Bonus in Pokémon.

To avoid having to skip turns, we will then close out the selection with a switch move in Parting Shot, which comes with an extra Sp. ATK debuff to targets. To recap, here’s an overview of what we believe to be the best Incineroar build in Pokémon Champions:

  • Ability: Intimidate
  • Nature: Careful
  • Stat Increases: +32 HP, +19 Sp. Def, and +15 Def
  • Item: Sitrus Berry
  • Moves
    • Fake Out
    • Parting Shot (or U-Turn if you wish to prioritize damage over overall utility)
    • Flare Blitz
    • Darkest Lariat (Knock Off can also be a huge STAB pick, via its ability to disable items early on)

The Best Incineroar Teams & Why They Work

Although its all-rounder nature and supporting role make Incineroar a great choice for multiple teams, the Pokémon shines the most when paired with teammates capable of further increasing its ability to switch in and out. Using types capable of countering its weaknesses and thus tanking some of its hits can also help a lot.

True to that, its best Incineroar team in Pokémon Champions usually has Sneaser or Garchomp as its main DMG dealer (with Feraligatr being a great alternative for those who purchased the Premium Pass). We will then go with Kingambit as a late sweeper and Sinistcha as a healer/support capable of keeping the team alive while also applying Trick Room to close the deal.

Is Incineroar Viable For Singles?

As the mode massively limits its biggest tools, and taking into account its low personal damage and speed, Incineroar is not considered a top pick for singles in Pokémon Champions, with flyers, high SPD options, and Fairy/Dragon-types being the current meta.
