Pokémon Champions: Best Archaludon Build And Teams

Well, imagine if the Golden Gate Bridge fought back.

An absolute unit, capable of countering physical threats via Stamina, as well as working as an excellent main attacker in both singles and doubles, Archaludon is one of the main reasons why I managed to climb the ranks in Pokémon Champions.

The Best Archaludon Build In Pokémon Champions

True to their role as a tank, Modest is by far the best Archaludon nature in Pokémon Champions, as you won’t rely on ATk at all. As mentioned above, Stamina is our go-to ability and will allow you to get +1 Def per physical hit suffered, which can allow you to perfectly counter matchups after a forced switch. For the item, any HP regen pick can work, with Sitrus Berry being our highlight.

Best Moves For Archaludon

Now, looking at the moveset, we will start by keeping Flash Cannon as Archaludon’s main STAB (Same-Type Attack Bonus) move, now paired with the still excellent Draco Meteor. Follow that up with an Electric move to counter the current Water and Flying meta. To be more specific, we will go with Thunderbolt for singles and Electro Shot for a sure one-hit kill on doubles. Just make sure you have rain up beforehand to skip the latter’s charging.

For the final spot, go with Protect for a good dose of Sp. Atk protection in doubles and Stealth Rock for a hazard boost in singles. To recap, here’s an overview of the best Archaludon builds in Pokémon Champions, now featuring their ideal stat distributions.

  • Ability: Stamina
  • Nature: Modest (↑ Sp. Atk ↓ Atk)
  • Stat Investment:
    • +32 Speed, +32 Sp. Atk, and +2 HP / +32 Sp. Atk, +32 HP, and +2 Speed (If you want to prioritize survivability)
  • Item: Sitrus Berry or Leftovers
  • Moves:
    • Flash Cannon
    • Draco Meteor
    • Thunderbolt (Singles) / Electro Shot (Doubles)
    • Stealth Rock (Singles) / Protect (Doubles)

The Best Archaludon Teams In Pokémon Champions

When in Doubles, Archaludon must be paired with teammates capable of triggering Rain and awakening his biggest weapon (Electro Shot), with Pelipper being the main choice via the effects of Drizzle. Incineroar will then be our main support, thanks to Intimidate and its ability to force switches while debuffing with Parting Shot. Lastly, go with Sneasler to set up kills and eliminate possible setups with Fake Out, Sinistcha for healing, and Dragonite.

For singles, Archaludon then works as an excellent physical attacker for all teams featuring one Pokémon capable of forcing switches like Meowscarada and Primarina, and a sweeper, ideally Garchomp, Gengar, or Kingabit. The rain strategy also works here and can be easily applied by using Rain Dance picks. You can check out an overview of both teams below:

  • Best Archaludon Singles Team
    • Archaludon (Thunderbolt / Stealth Rock)
    • Meowscarada / Primarina (Can deal damage while excelling at adaptability and being able to trigger early switches)
    • Garchomp / Gengar / Kingabit (Sweeper)
  • Best Archaludon Doubles Team
    • Archaludon (Electro Shot / Protect)
    • Pelipper (Can trigger rain on frame one with their Drizzle ability)
    • Incineroar (Can do Incineroar things)
    • Sneasler (Excles at both setting up attacks and dealing heavy damage) / Garchomp (an excellent Sweeper choice)
    • Dragonite (Rain Dance / Tailwind)
    • Sinistcha (Survivability)
