PGA Tour 2K25: Three Ways to Get Your Quick Fix In

Golf is a fantastic sport. You get to be outside amongst nature, enjoying the scenery while taking part in the satisfying activity of hitting a ball with a stick. It’s an excellent sport for socializing with friends and family, as well as for simply playing alone and clearing your mind.

But with all that’s great about golf, there’s one thing that can be an issue at times, and it’s how long it takes to play a round. Eighteen holes are great, but they definitely can be time-consuming if you just want to get your golf fix in a different way. Well, this applies to PGA Tour 2K25 as well, although you can get through 18 much faster in the game than you can in real life.

That being said, it’s always great to have some quick options to get your virtual golf fix to full satisfaction without needing the full 18. Luckily, PGA Tour 2K25 offers several ways to do just that, and we’ll outline a few options.

Play Nine Holes

This is the most obvious option, as for many years in golf games, we can choose to play just nine holes of a course. Nine holes are still plenty of golf, so that you can give that itch a nice scratch playing nine in PGA Tour 2K25. You can either play the front nine or the back nine of each course in the game.

The only thing that sucks is that PGA 2K doesn’t offer the option to play as many holes as we want, unlike the EA Sports golf games. It’s one of those more minor things that would be amazing to see because, sometimes, you want to play specific holes a few times. Hopefully, they add this in the future, but in the meantime, you can still enjoy some nine-hole rounds.

Quick Match

This is arguably the best way to get some fast, simple golf action in on PGA Tour 2K25. However, this is an online-only mode, so if you’re more of an enthusiast of solo rounds, then this option may not be the best, but feel free to give it a shot.

What makes this mode so perfect is that it’s only three holes, and it’s classic Stroke Play. You and up to three other players can duke it out and see who reigns supreme in these short rounds. They’re just so much fun, too, because there’s not much room for error due to the number of holes, which adds some drama. And it’s turn-based, which also adds an extra layer of drama.

Divot Derby

Divot Derby, introduced in PGA Tour 2K21, is a fun, simultaneous mode that was introduced in PGA Tour 2K23, and it’s all about speed. You and 19 other competitors tee off at the same time with one goal in mind: hole out as fast as possible, or get eliminated. Each Divot Derby session typically lasts about five holes.

Now, this is probably the fastest way to get your quick fix, but the reason I say Quick Match is arguably better is that it offers a traditional golf experience. In contrast, DD is a unique, non-traditional golfing experience. That being said, if you’re looking for something a bit wacky and fun, this is a great mode to play. However, I will point out that lobbies don’t always fill up, so expect about six real players and the rest of the competitors to be CPU.
