Patrick Mahomes can’t be playing with a football for a while until he heals up again from injury. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is sidelined from the action after suffering a grueling torn ACL and LCL.
The injury occurred during a game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Mahomes being unavailable to the Chiefs is a huge hit to the team in what has already been a disastrous season for them. However, the silver lining for the Chiefs QB is that he gets to spend some meaningful time with his family.
His wife, Brittany Mahomes, recently shared a picture of him standing on crutches alongside her and their children. It showcased his surgically repaired leg as well, in a brace. It seems that Mahomes isn’t letting the injury keep him completely down to not enjoy some quality time with his children, celebrating the New Year.
Mahomes Is Currently Recovering With Rehab
Recovering from a torn ACL injury is no joke and poses a huge setback for an athlete in any sport, especially for football. Patrick Mahomes didn’t waste any time after surgery and immediately checked himself into rehab to recover.
It’s not going to be an easy task for him to get through all of the tricky challenges the rehabilitation might pose. However, going through the process is going to be really necessary for him, so he can be 100% ready for his team and commit to his quarterback duties once again.
It’s certainly nice that Mahomes has his loving family by his side to support him through this painful process. He also seems to be enjoying the Holidays as well with his wife, with a few recent glimpses showing him in matching pajamas and looking happy. We’re certainly hoping that he’s focusing on the positives and choosing to motivate himself every day to get back up again.
His Recovery Timeline Is Somewhat Unclear
Patrick Mahomes is fully locked in, making the most out of his recovery and making it in time for next season for his team. However, we’re not sure if he’ll be able to fully recover and play in the first week of the NFL’s season that starts in September.
The Kansas City Chiefs are counting on their star quarterback to rebuild himself and regain his strength, so they can push for the playoffs. No matter what happens, we’re sure his family will be there to support him through thick and thin.
