OS AITA: I'm Going to Beat My Son by 100, Am I Wrong?

Sometimes OS just posts up with a take that needs to be shot out into the world, and today’s AITA-like entry comes from parenting corner as TarHeelPhenom asked fellow OSers if he was wrong for this:

I’m playing this football game against him on Roblox and he talking madd smack. We are about to play Madden next. I’m about to teach him a lesson. No mercy. I’m going for 100 on him. Am I wrong? Have any of you done that to your kid after he got cocky?

OSers were happy to share their thoughts and shared experiences in this realm as they mostly all supported TarHeelPhenom in his “life lesson” venture. A_ZomBevo shared this one:

I had done the same to my nephew when he challenged me to NFL Blitz 2000 three years ago. I beat him by 40+ each games, he was demoralized because he talked a big game. Last year, he challenged me again. He proceeded to hand my *** to me on a silver platter. I couldn’t have been more proud.

And salty.

But mostly proud.

Wildcats302 is even dreaming of this moment in his own parenting life:
My son is not even 5 but look forward to destroying him in NCAA Football when it returns when he is older. I destroyed my step son in NBA 2K. They always humiliate me in COD because they play it all the time so revenge was fun.
Of course, TarHeelPhenom did come back and share his postgame story as well. It wasn’t 100-0, but still, it was a big W:

In the words of the late Iron Sheik…

“I made him humble.”

He started trash talking before the game, and I trashed talked him during and after. He is now headed to bed in silence. We played 5 minute quarters with 14 second accelerated clock.

However, I share with ForUntoOblivionSoar and want to echo these thoughts:

Just make sure you stop taking rematches by the time he can beat you.

Always go out on top, baby. Anyway, a Parenting 101 faux pas or just the right amount of ownage?
