Oregon quarterback Dante Moore had a terrible first half against Indiana in the college football playoff semifinal. NFL fans quickly started making fun of the top college football prospect after his poor showing at the Peach Bowl.
Moore’s performance was bad right from the start. Just 11 seconds into the game, he threw an interception that Indiana returned for a touchdown. Things got worse in the second quarter when a run-pass option play fell apart. Running back Dierre Hill Jr. crashed into Moore’s throwing arm, causing him to fumble the ball. Indiana grabbed the ball at the three-yard line.
Indiana scored a rushing touchdown on the next play to take a 14-point lead. By halftime, the Hoosiers were crushing Oregon 35-7. According to The Sun, fans started joking about Moore’s future, especially since he’s expected to be picked second overall by the New York Jets in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Jets fans already see Moore as a perfect fit
The Jets just finished a terrible 3-14 season with awful quarterback play. Fans thought Moore’s performance looked exactly like what they’d expect from a Jets quarterback. One fan wrote on X that Moore is ready to be a New York Jet. Another said if you want to know what Moore’s rookie season with the Jets will look like, this game was it.
A third fan commented that Moore seems destined to be a Jet. The jokes kept coming as Indiana continued to dominate the game. The passion shown by fans during playoff games often reminds us of how NFL legends react on sidelines during crucial moments. The Hoosiers beat Oregon 56-22 in front of a crowd that was mostly Indiana fans.
Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza played amazingly for Indiana. He completed 17 of 20 passes for 177 yards and five touchdowns. Mendoza is expected to be the number one overall pick, heading to the Las Vegas Raiders who also went 3-14 this season.
Indiana will now play the Miami Hurricanes in the CFP National Championship on Monday, January 19. Moore’s rough night at the Peach Bowl will likely be remembered as one of the worst playoff performances by a top quarterback prospect. While sports debates continue heating up, other controversies have emerged, including Stephen A. Smith’s comments sparking online debate about recent events.
